I created an invoice and it immediatly shows paid before I saved it

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'll be happy to help so you can save your invoices without payments getting attached to it as you've described above. 

To get started, I recommend thoroughly checking your invoice details before saving it. I also recommend checking to see if you have the Automatically apply credits feature is enabled as that may cause the discrepancy when saving. You can check this by clicking on the Gear icon > Company settings > Advanced > Automatically apply credits.
