QuickBooks Online uses the first Form names text field in your template’s header settings for the printed version. Even if your preview or template displays Tax Invoice No, QuickBooks pulls its print instructions directly from that first text box. To correct this, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings, then Custom form styles, and click Edit on your template.
  2. Choose the Content tab, then select the Header section (the top panel of the preview).
  3. Locate the Form names area and update the Invoice field with Tax Invoice (or Tax Invoice No).
  4. Hit Done to save the changes.

Afterward, select that template using the Design panel under the Manage menu on your invoice screen to apply your changes.
