Invoicing your customers and receiving payments is a fundamental aspect of running a business. It's important that you're able to accurately track your invoices and payments. QuickBooks Online offers automation features, including the ability to automatically apply credits to your invoices. This may mark your invoice as paid when you create it.
To turn off automation settings, follow these steps:
1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Click Advanced.
4. Under Automation, turn off the settings of your choosing by clicking the pencil icon.
5. Click Done.
Now that those settings have been turned off, you'll have to manually select credits when creating an invoice.
