Why is the 'New' button on recurring transactions greyed out?

Restricted permissions can sometimes disable certain functions. Let's work together to determine why the 'New' button is greyed out and get this resolved for you, CR.

You'll have to ensure that you are set as a Standard user in QuickBooks to access and enter customer transactions. To verify your permissions, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Gear icon, select Manage users.
2. In the Role column, check out your access rights.

If your current permissions do not allow you to enter customer or vendor transactions, please notify your Admin to upgrade your account to Standard user status.

However, if you are already set as a Standard user and still experiencing the issue, try logging into your account using a private window.

Issues like this can sometimes stem from your browser. Using a private browsing mode can help, as it doesn't save your browsing history, cookies, or data, providing a fresh start that often resolves glitches.

 Here are the shortcut keys to open a private window:

• Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
• Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
• Control + Option + P (Safari).
• Press Ctrl + Shift + N(Microsoft Edge)

Once done, if you can create a recurring transaction and the New button is now clickable, return to your main browser and clear the cache to free up space and potentially improve your device's performance. If the problem continues, consider switching to another browser.
