There are two ways to enter an opening balance in QuickBooks Online. I'd be more than happy to show you the steps how. 

If you haven't created an account yet, you can enter an opening balance in the account creation screen. Here's how: 

1. Go to Accounting, then head over to the Chart of Accounts tab.
2. Click the New button.
3. Choose the Account and Detail Types. 
4. Enter a name for the account. 
5. Add an opening balance under Balance, then set the As of date. 
6. Click Save and Close.
