Question

Can someone tell me how to map my GST Payable account to the correct GIFI code in QBOA? I can't find any way to change the mapping in the new interface.

QBOA has assigned the incorrect GIFI code to the account and I can't change it. A six month old help Intuit help file article shows what to do, but the new interface for QBOA doesn't seem to allow it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

To map your GST payable account to the correct GIFI code in the updated QuickBooks Online Accountant interface, navigate to the Workpapers menu again and use the Tax mapping tab to edit the account's assigned code.

Here's the exact process to get that incorrect code fixed:

  1. On the Tax Mapping tab, select the appropriate tax form for your client.
  2. Find the account on the tax form under the Tax Line, select the pencil icon to edit. Choose the correct tax line to reassign an already mapped account.

For future reference, you can view our fully updated guide on this process here: We've updated your view of Workpapers.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance with the new interface.
