How can I add Sales Tax for 2016

Assuming you filed the returns for the previous years and entering transactions in to the QuickBooks Online

01. Post a journal entry

Dr  Opening Equity

Cr  GST/HST Payable

02. Post a journal entry

Dr  GST/HST Payable

Cr   GST/HST Suspense account

03. For the sales tax payments use Cheque screen and select GST/HST Suspense account under category
