Question

How do you view a breakdown of Provincial and Federal Tax Deductions? (Canada). Quickbooks shows a bulk income tax deduction, but separate amounts will be needed for T4s

In Canada, we have Provincial and Federal taxes separately. When I double check using the CRA payroll deductions calculator, it seems Quickbooks is taking off the correct amount, but it does not break it down by tax type. When doing my employees T4s come tax time, I will need to know how much of each tax was paid.

Hi there, @treasurer186.

You're correct that QuickBooks calculates all the tax types automatically. However, it combines Federal and Provincial income taxes into one line.

To see the individual breakdowns needed for T4 preparation, you can manually calculate the tax deductions using the CRA Payroll Deduction Calculator.

Please also consider to contact your accountant for further assistance.
