Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Don't worry, these mistakes happen from time to time, and QuickBooks Online is designed with the knowledge that sales tax numbers may need to be changed. Luckily, it's an easy process to correct that number, and I'd be happy to show you how it's done.
When you're working with sales tax, managing related codes and filings is handled through the Taxes tab, where the Sales Tax module is located. With that in mind, changing your GST number will also happen there. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough.
Select Taxes from the left menu.
In the Sales Tax section, choose Manage sales tax.
Choose Edit agency settings for the sales tax agency your GST code is under.
Use the GST Number field to make the changes.
Click Save.
That's all it takes. Now your GST number will show correctly not only in these settings, but other areas in the books that use the number, such as on your sales forms. Give that a shot and let me know how it goes.
Enjoy your day!
