Question

I'm trying to set up Saskatchewan Liquor Tax (LCT) in QBO, but it's showing as a sale instead of a tax on purchases. I'm not sure what's wrong or how to fix it

You can add a custom rate to reverse the sales rate into the purchase rate, Samantha.

Before anything else, could you provide more details about where you found the tax on sales? It will help us better understand what you're trying to achieve and can offer the appropriate solution.

If you're referring to the image provided below, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Taxes, then Sales tax.
  2. Click Manage sales tax.
  3. Locate the Saskatchewan Liquor Tax, then hit + Add Custom Rate.
  4. Enter the necessary details.
  5. Select I pay this on purchase.
  6. Click Add to save.

Once done, you can set the previous tax as inactive. Please note that you can't make any changes once it has been set up.

You can personalize your report to ensure it meets your business needs.
