It's a pleasure to see you in Community. Welcome! QuickBooks Online Sales Tax feature enables you to add agencies and rates, to ensure accurate calculations on your business forms. I would be glad to assist!
When you're unable to view the sales tax rated, from the dropdown menu on your sales forms, I recommend clearing cache on your browser. This will help improve system performance, and loading times. If you experience the same outcome, try other browsers such as Firefox, Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, or a private/incognito window.
With regards to the GST showing as 2.5%, I suggest reviewing your sales tax rates. Although you can't edit a sales tax rate, you can make them inactive, as you feel necessary.
Feel free to reach back out, if you have any other questions. We would be happy to help!
This problem resolved itself when I signed off QBO and signed back on. There are no sales tax items in my list that show GST as 2.5%, active or inactive. QBO just applied this rate by itself for some reason.
I appreciate your response, but the application behaving this way doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I was a longtime QB Desktop user before Windows 11 forced me to switch to QBO.
