The "404 Not Found" error occurs when the requested resource is not available on the server, Ida8.

When exporting a Sales Tax filing report to Excel, this error typically indicates one of the following: an incorrect request URL, the resource not existing, or user access limitations.

To resolve this issue, ensure that:

  • The URL used to access the report is correct.
  • The resource actually exists.
  • You have the necessary permissions to access and export the report within your company file.

If all the above checks have been verified and the issue persists, the problem must be caused by excessive data buildup in your browser. This can impact system performance and lead to functional errors.

To address this, I recommend performing troubleshooting, which includes clearing your browser's cache and cookies to refresh the system. Also, ensure you are using a supported and up-to-date browser to provide a better experience and resolve the issue.

I'm also attaching an article that can help you manage your bookkeeping so it always matches your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
