Question

Should the sales tax tab say exempt or zero-rated if I am entering a bill from a small supplier (under $30,000 revenue). They did not charge HST?

Hi healy.balzer,

It's important that you're using the right tax code for your transactions. I recommend reaching out to an accounting professional who will be able to share expert advice on how to classify that transaction. Our website makes it easy to search for accounting professionals. You'll just need to enter you postal code and you'll get a list of professionals within your area.

In the meantime, here's a helpful resource that'll help with differentiating between zero-rated and exempt. Let me know if you have questions.
