940 form

I have been filing my payroll taxes through quickbooks online without any issues.  I just efiled my 941 and w3s so I know that I am set up for doing so.  Every time I go to efile my 940 I get a message saying that

This form can not be electronically filed.  Has anybody else encountered this, know how to fix it, or do I have to try to figure out how to pay it outside of quickbooks online?

Thank you!

Hi there, @rebv.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're have a great day so far.

To clarify, did the error message list a reason for the rejected e-file? For example, we sometimes see error messages like these that list "Oops! We Found a problem. Error submitting filing electronically. Error reason: documentsData with an invalid value.", or something similar.

While I await your response, let's go ahead and try some basic troubleshooting steps. Such as clearing the cache from your browser. Web browsers collect cache to save time when loading repetitive data and images. Over time these files can become outdated and corrupted, causing issues like the one you're experiencing with the rejection e-file error message. I'm including the links to all supported browsers that contain the steps to clear the cache below.

Once the cache has been cleared, let's go ahead and restart the browser so the changes can take affect.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Take care!

The error message says:

Oops! We found a problem.

This form can not be electronically filed.

I cleared the cache and got the same error message
