The decision to turn off sales tax in QuickBooks Online depends on your specific setup, Kypi-pion. Here are some key factors to consider so you feel assured as you move forward.
If Avalara is set up to manage sales tax calculations and compliance when integrated with QuickBooks Online, it will take over the responsibility for calculating sales tax on your transactions. To confirm how Avalara integrates with QBO and whether it overrides QuickBooks' automatic sales tax calculations, I recommend contacting Avalara's support team for more detailed information.
If you decide to turn off your sales tax in QBO and gain more insights into what will happen when it's turned off, you can refer to this guide: Turn off sales tax in QuickBooks Online.
Before you turn off the automated sales tax feature in QuickBooks Online, it's wise to test how Avalara works with QuickBooks. After integrating Avalara, try creating an invoice to make sure it calculates the sales tax correctly and meets your expectations. This simple verification can save you from potential issues in the future.

We need a better understanding of how Avalara works with QuickBooks on the back-end integration as far as if sales tax reporting inactive in QBO how it works on the Avalara side. Does only Avalara show the tax and report it under Avalara without specifying a certain state or what are the details? I tried an invoice, and it doesn't report to either side now. There needs to be better sync and maybe a checkbox for each state showing Avalara will calculate the tax in the tax reporting section(tab) in QBO. Very confusing reporting in QBO when all tax is lumped into Avatax and not listed by state.
