Question

Looking for a program to enter our farm taxes that catagorizes, sub totals, etc. Our very old program was lost when the computer crashed. We only use this for maybe a month or two

Hello and welcome, Doats! I’m glad you’re considering QuickBooks to manage your farm’s finances.

Based on your needs, QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) both offer excellent solutions, depending on your preference for cloud access or local software.

With QBO, you’ll enjoy the benefits of a secure, cloud-based system that ensures your data is safe and accessible from anywhere, eliminating the risks associated with computer crashes. You’ll be able to create detailed categories for farm-related costs, such as livestock, seeds, or machinery, keeping everything perfectly organized for tax preparation.

On the other hand, QuickBooks Desktop provides powerful tools to manage your finances locally, giving you full control over where your data is stored while offering similar tracking and reporting features tailored for your farm’s needs.

To help you get started, both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop offer free 30-day trials. These trials allow you to explore the programs, evaluate their features, and ensure they’re a perfect fit for your farm’s seasonal bookkeeping before making any commitments:

For future reference, if you need to renew your subscription in QBO or subscribe to QBDT, you can visit the following pages:

@Doats

You can use old QB Desktop with a non subscription license to lower your cost.
