Question

How do I remediate many missing transactions from earlier this year? They appear on my banks site but do not import. This includes estimates quarterly taxes paid.

I have refreshed many times. I have considered deleting and re-adding my bank, but I am concerned I will lose all the transactions I already categorized. This was likely caused by me not logging in for many months.

You can manually import your transactions into QuickBooks using a CSV file format, making it easier to track them.

Here's how:

  1. Go to All apps, then Accounting, and select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the Link account dropdown, then click Upload from file. If your account isn't connected yet to online banking, click Connect your bank or Upload from this device.
  3. Choose Drag and drop or select files, and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
  4. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Note: If you're new to QuickBooks, you may not have an account to upload the transactions into. If you don't see one, select Add New from the dropdown to create a new bank account.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Match the columns in the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then click Continue.
  7. Choose the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  8. Select Yes, then click Done.

If you have already categorized transactions, your previous categorizations will not affect your transactions unless they are still under For Review or remain uncategorized.

If you disconnect and then reconnect your bank, duplicate transactions may appear. If this happens, you can exclude the duplicate transactions.
