Can you share the exact error message so we can provide the right solution? Also, are you uploading a bill you paid or an invoice you sent to a customer?

If it is a business expense you paid, you can upload the image or PDF directly. Here is how:

  1. Go to All apps, select Accounting, and click Receipts.
  2. Click Upload from computer to select your file, or just drag and drop it.
  3. Wait a few moments for QuickBooks to read the document.

QuickBooks will automatically check if the uploaded document matches an existing transaction.

If you created these invoices in another software and want to bring them into QuickBooks, you cannot upload a PDF. Instead, you need to import them using a CSV file:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top right, then select Import Data under the Tools column.
  2. Select Invoices, click Browse to upload your CSV file, and click Next.
  3. Match your spreadsheet columns to the QuickBooks fields and select Next.
  4. Review the import summary. If everything looks correct, select Start import.
  5. Select OK if the import succeeds. If any invoices fail, check the error reason, then select Done.
