A few months ago I was having problems with quick books desktop 2024   I could not save a back up copy, it shut me down and all my payroll remittances came oiut to zero, among other problems.   It was suggested here that I download the enterprise trial version, which I did.   After 30 days it expired and i was able to download for another 30 days which has now expired.  Now I am locked out and can not get into my company file.   I still use quick books pro 2024 desktop for another company, but how do i get my quickbooks that is in enterprise and downlaod it to my desktop 2024.  Hoping this is possible

I remember your case. Did you locate the latest backup file before opening it on Enterprise for the first time?

I have back up files from every day.  I am not quite sure which day i started enterprise for the first time.

The reason you are currently locked out is that QuickBooks files are not backward-compatible. Once your company file was opened in the Enterprise trial, its internal database format was upgraded, preventing standard QuickBooks Pro from opening it directly.

Since you have an active QuickBooks Pro 2024 subscription, the best way to access your data is to restore a backup from before the Enterprise trial started.

You can search your computer for files ending in .qbb to see if there are the most recent manual or automatic backups created. Locating these backups and company data files will allow you to secure a clean copy of your company's data.

Here is how to locate and restore that data:

  1. Open QuickBooks Pro 2024.
  2. Go to File, then Open or Restore Company.
  3. Select Restore a backup copy (.qbb) and click Next.
  4. Choose Local backup and select Next.
  5. Browse and select your .qbb file, then click Open.
  6. Choose your save location and click Save.

Alternatively, you can visit the Intuit Partner Directory and filter by Data Migration under Specialized Services. There, you can find a third-party provider to help convert your upgraded company file back from Enterprise to Pro, or you can directly contact our Intuit Experts.

Please respond to this post if you have additional concerns.

I have chatted with someone online.

The have said

What we can do is to have your file escalated to our Data Services to convert your copy file to Pro

we will need to escalate your company file to our Data Services team to complete the conversion for you

Thank you. I will go ahead and escalate your file to our Data Services team to convert your file to Pro 2024. Process may take 5-7 business days.

So now I wait.

One question, would I have to delete the quick books enterprise?
