How can I delete vat return from quickbooks
vat return status is open but vat has already been paid to HMRC

If you have MTD connected, a 'Take action' button should show on the VAT dashboard which will the prompt you to mark the return as filed (please note the start and end dates of the return should match the period submitted to HMRC) - this will then open the next VAT period in QuickBooks.
