Hello, becksbrock1.

There isn’t a way to deactivate VAT once it’s turned on in QuickBooks. As a workaround, you can set your code to No VAT to avoid any prompts about entering VAT codes. Here’s how:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Click Accounts and Settings.
  3. Go to Advanced and click the pencil icon on Accounting.
  4. Go to Default tax rate selection and select No VAT.
  5. Click Save and Done.
