I'm no longer VAT registered so do I have to deactivate it on quickbooks?

Hello dhflooring666-ou, In Quickbooks you cannot turn off VAT once it is turned on. You can in the settings remove the action from invoices/bills etc(cog in the top right>account and settings>advanced>accounting>default tax rate>change that to no vat which will mean it will not show on your invoices and bills to select) you just can not turn off the function completely because of the chart of accounts its created when added.
