Why is my Net Value of Sales in the VAT return it is saying £32,479 different from my Total income of £28,830. I don't want to pay too much VAT?

The amount that shows in the Net value of sales on your VAT return is coming from the transactions with tax codes. You can check this article for the common VAT codes and the boxes affected.
