Recording your payment accurately, with the correct date, is essential in order to maintain the accuracy of your books. QuickBooks Online makes it easy for you to delete a payment and record it again using the proper information.
To delete a payment, follow these steps:
1. Click the Sales tab on the left navigation menu.
2. Click All Sales.
3. Locate your payment from October 30th and click to open it.
4. At the bottom of the page, click More.
5. Select Delete.
6. Click Yes.
Now that your payment has been deleted, you can go ahead and re-record the payment with the correct date of September 3rd.
