I use Quickbooks Self-Employed. I am a sole trader I don't have employees. Each month I make pension contributions to a pension scheme but I do not know how to report this on the app / site. It is personal or business expenses? If it is business which category is it? I have seen a previous post about this and you say to just put it as personal but I was wandering if there is an update considering you do have to inform hmrc when you file your taxes about any pension contributions.
I'm a self employed freelancer and as well as doing my own accounting, I also have the accounts for a company I work with. Can I have one subscription that lets me have both sets of accounts (and bank accounts) or do I need separate subscriptions?
Can I Connect my 1&1 IONOS email NOT GMAIL to QuickBooks Desktop? If not, why isn't this functionality available? I used WAVEAPPs which is free and was able to easily do this. QB seems to enjoy overcomplicated processes. I moved from QB online to Desktop in order to use multiple currencies as a freelancer and now can't send invoices from my personal email address. Can someone please advise / shed some light on this? Thanks
I am using Pro 2014 desktop, it works for me, it even runs on Window 10. I have no desire or need to upgrade. i have turned off auto updates as i don't want an update to stop QB running on Win10. Every time i start up i get a dialog box saying "there's a new quickbooks software update waiting for you", and i select the install later option, but at some point i am going to select, by mistake, the default option "install now". I have searched through the ini file but can find no obvious way to disable this dialog box. Anyone got any ideas how i prevent this box appearing at start-up?
Hello We have an accountant working with an old version of Quickbooks on his laptop (Quickbooks Pro 2013). We are considering Quickbooks online (pro package) for the rest of the organisation. However, the accountant works in the field with little internet access. Would it be possible for him to use the version he has and then export the data (seamlessly) to the online version - either monthly himself, or by emailing us the export? ThanksAmanda
I started adding a few clients and tested the workflow templates creating projects and tasks etc. Now i want to import my practice desktop quickbooks file to QBO but realised it will override all my clients and therefore templates, projects, tasks etc. I do want my history from desktop to be imported therefore not keen on just taking on balances from desktop. I have resigned myself to redo all the templates and workflow unless there is a workaround. Thanks
We have ran desktop quickbooks since 2011 for our retail store. It has been a huge learning process for my mother and me as we didn't really know all the ends and outs of the program when we were setting it up. The numbers that we have are a mess and really don't show accurately in both the quickbooks and quickbooks financial software and I am wondering has anyone ever made a new company file, in orders to set it up inventory mostly quickly and accurately using the import tool which wasn't available back then, while saving the old company file on a database for references if needed? It seems that is the best way to make our costs and margins as well as inventory read out accurately. Please any insight is appreciated greatly.Thank you
We have four users serving seven different companies. One of the company files will not allow us to change to single-user if opened in multi-user mode, even though no one else is in the file. When this is attempted, the file locks and we need to have our IT guys reset services to unlock the file. We have no such issues with the other six company files, only this one company. Any ideas how to fix?
I am trying to invoice for some materials for a new customer on QB Self Employed, I have input the Recipient name and email address. When I try to add work to the invoice it deletes the recipient name and email address. Its driving me crazy
Hi, I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I am using QB for the Self Emoloyed, and I am unsure how to categorise Paypal credit transactions. If I buy something on paypal credit, for expalin i spend £1000 and use paypal credit to pay. I then get a few different transactions show up in QB. I have the -£1000 for the order payment going to the supplier (which i have marked as 'Cost of Goods for resale'), then there is a +£1000 which is marked as 'Transfer (Charge) - Paypal Credit'. I also have minus amounts to paypal credit for when i pay off my paypal credit account.... which i dont know what to make them as, do i mark those as 'repayments of loans' or 'credit card payments'? Its all confusing me, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so muchGypsie
