You'll want to undo the reconciled deposit transaction from the account register in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) before you can delete it, @Kat93. We'll provide more information below to ensure your inquiry is addressed promptly.

Before anything else, please know that unreconciling a transaction from a reconciled bank account can cause errors within your balance. That said, you'll need to ensure that you've unreconciled the correct deposit transaction to avoid affecting your bank balance. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and select Use register.
  2. Choose the account where you've added the deposit transaction and then click OK.|
  3. Locate the deposit transaction and then in the Checkmark column, click on it until it removes the checkmark leaving it empty.
  4. Once done, right click on the transaction and then select Delete Deposit.
  5. Click OK.

You can also consider working with an accountant before removing the deposit transaction from the reconciled bank account. This way, they can provide other ways to handle this situation while ensuring your books remain accurate. If you don't have an accountant, I can help you find one.
