Is there a way to group HST Payable by Class? Ideally, in the Sales Tax Module? I have a client with more than one RT acct so I need to separate them by Class.

Currently, the ability to group HST Payable by Class in the Sales Tax Module is unavailable, LisaW62.

The Sales Tax Module in QuickBooks provides detailed reports on tax rates, codes, and agencies. On the other hand, Classes are only used to categorize transactions to track income and expenses by department and do not directly affect the Sales Tax section.

For now, the best option to separate your multiple clients’ Reporting Tax accounts by Class (HST Payable) is by following the workaround you’ve shared.

I understand how important this feature is for your workflow. With that in mind, I recommend sharing this suggestion with our developer team  so they may consider adding this for future updates. To do so, here's how:

1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
2. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
3. Write your suggestion in the box provided.
4. Once done, click Next.
