Quickbooks Enterprise 2024 File crashing after logging in, File Doctor does not help

Thank you for completing the initial troubleshooting steps, such as using the QuickBooks Tool Hub, to address the freezing and crashing issues in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. These issues are usually caused by a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.

To resolve this, we can rename the QBWUSER.INI and EntitlementDataStore.ecml files. This process allows QuickBooks to generate new files when reopened. Here’s how:

1. Close QuickBooks.
2. Locate the QBWUSER.INI file:
   • Navigate to Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks\[Year].
   • If you don’t see the folder, enable hidden files and folders on your system.
3. Right-click the QBWUSER.INI file and select Rename.
   • Add “.old” at the end of the file name (e.g., QBWUSER.INI.old).
4. Similarly, rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file.
5. Reopen QuickBooks Desktop.

Note: The steps may vary slightly depending on your operating system. If needed, consult your IT personnel for support.

After renaming the files, reopen QuickBooks and pull up a sample company file. Next is your company file.

If your company file doesn’t open, move it to a different location (such as a local folder instead of a network folder).
