Question

Yesterday when I was importing transactions from my credit card statement, they were all importing for the year 1969 instead of 2025. Any idea what to do about that?

Thanks for reaching out, Horizon. It occurs when date formats get misinterpreted during the import process in your file if the year is missing or the columns are changed, so it defaults to 1969.

To resolve this issue, begin by downloading a new copy of your credit card statement from your bank, ensuring it includes the correct dates for 2025.

Before importing the file, open it and verify that the date column displays the full four-digit year format (MM/dd/yyyy). Once you have confirmed this, try uploading it again to QuickBooks.

If you are still facing the same issue after re-uploading the new file, I recommend using the CSV file format for your imports. The CSV format provides better control over date formatting and helps to prevent misinterpretations.

For comprehensive instructions on how to set everything up, please refer to this article: Import/export CSV files.
