I saw another answer in Help suggesting that I can click Customize and there should be a Filters section where I can choose Distribution Accounts, but when I click Customize there's only two sections available, General and Rows/Columns, and neither of those has any option for filtering by distribution account.

My nonprofit just started using classes to track expenses. One of our primary reasons for doing so was to allocate employee payroll costs among various program classes. However, I just learned that QBO does not allow a particular employee's payroll costs to be assigned to multiple classes -- only one class can be assigned to an employee. Surely other users of QBO have been frustrated by this significant limitation. I'm curious if more experienced users have devised solutions or "work arounds" to assign employees' payroll costs to multiple classes. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions you have. I would like to assign an employee's payroll costs to multiple classes, but I understand that this is not currently possible with QBO. What "work-arounds" have QBO users devised to solve this problem? I'm curious whether users have developed standard journal entries to efficiently allocate payroll costs to the appropriate class.
I have figured out how to properly catalog the owner equity distributions as expense, but where do ai actually initiate the ACH direct deposit? Do I need to make myself a vendor and generate a bill?
I was told by support a few hours ago that a temp work around for the performance problem is to rename the attach folder to attach.old? The performance problem is after an update last Friday, some user logins are causing hundreds of files to open from the attach\company name folder\txn It seems to me that renaming that folder would break QB's function? They said it wouldn't but I don't believe them.Anyone else try this crazy temp fix?
We want to give customer credit and set a limit in QB so we don't over extend this credit. Is there any way to do this?
I use QBSE, and I mostly get paid via 1099 without taxes withheld. I have a new client that will only pay through payroll, so W2 and taxes withheld. Do I:1) enter this information into my "tax profile"? So, I would enter the full amount of W2 income, then enter the federal and state taxes withheld, in their appropriate fields? I am married and filing jointly with 1 dependent. Or,2) enter this information into my transactions. So, I enter the actual full income before taxes. Then enter an expense for the taxes withheld, and categorize it as federal tax/state tax? I've tried #2, and it will change what I should pay for my "estimated tax". This doesn't seem right to me. Is it better to do #1?Thanks,J
I get the file upload failed message.

Hey everyone! Can you recommend an ERP system for a small IT company (up to 50 people)? Ideally it should have everything in one place - sales, projects, HR, recruiting, and finance. Would really appreciate any suggestions!
Hi QB Platform,Nyseg requested a security deposit of $2,681 which included the connection fee of $50 and e-check bank fee of $1 with no invoice(majority of Security deposit to be held until disconnection). The bill was sent for $777.53 less $51 taken as previous credit balance(connection/bank fee), I assumed from the security deposit= balanced owed on bill $726.53What are the step sequence to journalize these amount so I have the security deposit left in the asset account?1. Do I need to create a chart of account for Utility Deposit/other assets and then add Nyseg as a vendor and create a journal entry for the bank (credit) sent ($2681)and Utility deposit as the (debit)($2681) with the vendors name to the right.2. Then once bill balance of $726.53 is posted to the bank account, use a journal entry to record the bill as follows:Utility expense - $777.53 debit/vendors name to the right Utility deposit - ($51) credit/name nysegBank payment - ($726.53) creditAm I on the right track? Client has paid via PayPal thru Quickbooks 2 days ago. All my accounts are connected, and Quickbooks has labeled 'System recorded for deposit'. What happens next?
My company is a rather small membership organization that does not require much of what we have in QuickBooks Essentials. I would like to know if the (extremely annoying) Business Feed is also in Simple Start.
The Time app will not load
I need to see which customers have set up autopay on their monthly invoices, I used to be able to look at the Invoice Activity section for ea. customer, but now it isn't showing anything about auto pay scheduled? I know certain customers are on autopay. However, the system doesn't show it. This really needs fixing. We should be able to go to recurring transactions and see a list of who has elected for autopay instead of going to each individual customer's invoice activity. Even that isn't working anymore! Please help me find where I can see who has set up autopay! I need to create a report today!!
I am unhappy with quickbooks fees on invoices and the general fee that has increased every year in the last 5 years. I need a better more affordable option.
I was charged a transfer fee on an invoice that was paid directly from a bank account. I thought this was free.
