QuickBooks Q&A

I noticed that QBO is not calculating sales tax for items correctly. Items are all set up as non-taxable. This is because I only collect sales tax in certain states. So, at the invoice level I mark items as taxable that I need to. Always worked fine in the past up until Q1 of 2025. On invoices where I collect sales tax, I mark the line item as taxable. For some items, it includes it on the calculation. For other items it does not. There is no difference in the setup for each of these items. I would expect that when I check "Taxable" on the invoice that the item would be taxed, whether it's an item, discount, etc. But it's not. This was working fine. I only found it now because I was reporting my quarterly sales tax and noticed that it was all wrong. As you can see by the attached documents, the items are marked as taxable, the taxable subtotal is correct, but it's only calculating tax
Bug: Profit and Loss report is not converting currency - it is showing original currency at the report instead of US$
"Inventory Assemblies are only available in QuickBooks Desktop. These are called Bundles in QuickBooks Online. A bundle is a collection of products and services you sell together. You use them if you don't need to transfer and track the finished products before they're sold." I am looking at what will happen to my data once I transfer from QB Desktop Mfg. to QB Online. We track how many assembled products we have on hand: e.g., Inventory Part that is now an Assembly Item; we sell from both categories, the parts and the assemblies. When we fill an order, we usually fill it from the assemblies and QB tells us that we don't have enough assemblies and then we know we need to make some up. PLEASE comment on how you have weathered this change, or if there is any fix.

I lost my QBSimple start program for Invoices need to find my company files
ihave a employee over 65 she gets her employee socialsecurity taken out BUT it doesnt take out the employer socialsecurity
I recently took over the role of Bookkeeper for a company that use QB and SOS Inventory. We are having some difficulty with the way SOS files are transferring to QB. We have been able to correct a portion of these issues. However, we are still continuing to have difficulties that appear to be over inflating our Cost of Assembly. We believe that the cost of assembly is not being carried into QB correctly or is some how doubling. I have reached out to SOS and while they have been help for in the Cost of Goods sold area, they have not been able to provide much on the cost of assembly. Has anyone else had this or similar issues? Thanks!

I have been a QBO user for several years with no problems. Just under a month ago my checking account stopped downloading new transactions from my bank (Northern Trust). It was really strange because the balance was correct and appeared to be updating every day. Just no new transactions. I disconnected the account, cleared all browser cache and cookies and, in an incognito window, reconnected the bank account. The balance showed as correct but all the transactions were downloading from a different account I have at the same bank. I disconnected the account and tried again but to no avail. Clearly I'm connecting to the correct account because the balance is showing as correct. But it's pulling transactions from the wrong account. If anyone has ideas on this it would be most helpful. I've lost pretty important functionality at this point. Many thanks, Matt.
Can someone explain to me why in Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise, when I go to send a report such as an "Open Balance" report to a client, the email address for the client profile does not automatically populate? Instead it requires you close the report (often after you've customized it), then open and copy email address from the customer profile, then go back and generate the report, then paste the copied email address into the send window, then send. This is HUGELY inconvenient to constantly go back and forth between windows that don't let you switch between them, and should automatically insert the client's email address using the email report function.
Most of our expenses are salaries. We have several other accounts that we wish to consolidate. We would like the Statement to have two expense lines--salaries and everything else. How?
A customer made a payment through Intuit Payment Solutions last month, and the payment is showing in our bank account, but is not showing up anywhere in QB desktop. It's not in undeposited funds. It's not deposited and posted to the customer account. I can view the transaction details of the payment, and it's funded. I can't reconcile because of this, and I need to give the customer a refund as they overpaid. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I always file the quarterly 941 electronically and this quarter it si not showing up to file. How can this be fixed?
I have two of these messages on my App page: "Your Squarespace Connector by Intuit needs attention". Trying to disconnect this App doesn't do anything but tell me it's done. Trying to Update the App on the Apps page results in an error 590.
I started QB to do my Desktop Payroll this morning and it said there was a new update to QB Desktop. I allowed it to update and now my payroll data has reverted back to 2017. No current data available at all. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?
