I've been trying to find the best way to track restricted funds for my nonprofit and expenses that are incurred against them.1. I tried using Equity accounts. The problem I ran into is that when we have an expense--say a PayPal fee--I have to choose between having it appear as a decrease in the equity account OR as a PayPal expense along with other non-restricted PayPal expenses--but not both. This means either the equity account or the expense tracking is wrong. 2. So I tried using Classes instead of equity accounts. This seemed to solve the problem above but a new one arose: suppose I create a Sales Receipt for a donation made via PayPal. The receipt has two lines, one for the gross amount of the donation and one with a negative value for the PayPal expense. I assign the relevant restricted fund class to both, categorize the gross donation as a donation (along with unrestricted ones) and the PayPal fee as a PayPal fee (along with
We are a charity and receive in-kind donations. We would like to include them in our Quickbooks for completing our 990.
My company has three departments. Parts, Sales and Service. How can I create a different estimate template per department and have the user in the department default to their template. Right now it is using the "Default" template and every time a user crates a new estimate they have to click and select the department template I created. Can a user in a department be associated to their departments custom template?
Our business is really growing and I need to keep track of each sale by state so I am in compliance with the remote seller rules by state. Everything I can find says I go to customer detail and select a column for state/province. I can't find that option anywhere.

Last week I noticed that suddenly when using the Send Forms function to send out invoices, the primary recipient (or To:) email address was blank - as shown in the screen shot below. The only thing I have changed recently was a payroll update. In the past this always worked as expected. If there is a copy recipient (or Cc:) that address does show up.This issue only occurs when I have the Preferences for Send Forms set to Outlook. If I change the setting to Web Mail then the primary recipient email address does appear, but when I hit the 'Send Now' button then I am asked to set up my email - which takes me to the Preferences screen. If I change the setting to Outlook, then the invoices are actually processed and mailed out. But when I go back into the Send Forms screen after that, the recipient address is once again blank. So I am stuck in a loop of having to set the Send Forms preference to Web Mail, change it when I am actually sending out inv
I want to close my Green Dot account. How do I do that?
Will QB give us a report that we can give client's employees to show the amount of untaxed overtime to support the new tax bill?We know the W2 won't change until 2026, and we know we won't be submitting this to the IRS. However I believe QB should create something we can give to each employee. I can do it on Excel, but this would be appreciated.
The connection from our software to QuickBooks is failing.QuickBooks 2018, 2020, 2022 and Enterprise v23 all have the same issue. It worked without any problems about a year ago. QuickBooks 2012 Pro works fine. There is no problem with the connection with our software. When I looked up the forum article, I checked the contents that came due to the issue of the expiration of the Symantec certificate in 2023.Our machine is applied up to the latest Windows 10 version update, QuickBooks is also updated to the latest version.I checked the qbsdklog.txt and found that the log was recorded. I guess this issue is the cause.I want help with this issue. ================================================== 20251206.050141 D 9716 CertVerifier Found signature certificate.20251206.050141 D 9716 CertVerifier simple issuer: Thawte Code Signing CA20251206.050141 D 9716 &nbs
Can I Copy/Paste Journal Entries from Excel to QBO?I know there is no option to import JEs to QBO unless I use a Transaction Pro app.Is there an option to just copy/paste them?Thank you!
We found a hidden transaction that's affecting your difference A transaction cleared the bank during this statement period but its QuickBooks transaction date is afterwards. Would you like us to change the filter date to show the hidden transaction?
Hello - I need some information about the inventory system in QBO... Backstory: I own a construction company that primarily bids jobs to acquire and install a multitude of products, but also occasionally sells products. Because we are a construction company, we quote jobs by total price and invoice that same price. For example, we might quote $10,000 for a project, and then order the materials to complete the work. Explanation: When we purchase materials, it is easy to allocate the expense to a particular job, but sometimes, after we complete a job, we are left with extra material, or scraps that are still useable for another project. I am considering setting up inventory for job costing purposes for when we do use those left over materials because I currently don't have a good way to add those to the job costing without messing up the invoicing of it. Information Needed: Before I go through the process of setting all of that up, I want to make su
My company used Intuit Online Payroll back in 2016. Obviously sunsetted, but we still have an Intuit account. We did not "chose to stay with us and move to the QuickBooks Online Payroll", although honestly we used to visit qbo.intuit.com for payroll services and I swore it was called QuickBooks Online Payroll Core:Either way, I can still sign into the account. I see the old subscription, no problem. It lists the "Squatch Creative" company name next to the Subscription, but when I click on it, I get this: I recently got an invite from a vendor to use QuickBooks Money with this account. When I go to accept the invite, there are 2 companies listed. The "Squatch Creative" above and another variation of the same company name (I do not have two companies). When I click on either company, I get "xxxx company already have QuickBooks Money. Continue to Sign In." I click on it, and then land on this:Click on either company gets the same "Yo
I accidentally imported my personal bank account transactions from the bank where I also have my business bank account. It seems like the accounts are crossed now. I have toggled off all personal accounts, and disconnected the personal account altogether, but the transactions from my personal account are still showing in the account. Can I undo the import and unlink the account?
We WILL be using QuickBooks desktop CONTRACTOR edition. My question is this: The company owner wants to be able to get report of Profit & Loss for each project, but also wants to track operating cost of trucks/equipment used. Note - Many vehicles and equipment are leased, or rented. A consultant, who I question is really as knowledegable as she claims at least as it pertains to QB, has told the owner that by using classes he can get all this. I have not used classes in QB but have viewed several videos on this and don’t see how it is going to get the owner the information he wants. Maybe I'm just not getting it, so that's why I am here. The owner desperately wants to get a handle on how much each truck / piece of equipment costs him to operate, but also wants to know the costs on each as it relates to a particular project. We know the factors that have to go into figuring out an hourly cost. Whether this can be don
Isn't QuickBooks payments PCI compliant? Ultimately it is their software being used and I don't have anything to do with payments other than sending an invoice. I don't see any of the customers information from their payment.
I need the direct phone # to Quickbooks Risk Department because they won't release funds to my bank account and I am literally going to lose my business because of it. The Payment Department will NOT give me thier phone #. All I want to do is speak directly to the case manager so he/she and I can quickly work together to verify all that needs verified right then and there so I don't lose my business. It is absolutely infuriating I'm not able to speak directly to the "Risk" people. Truthfully I don't think this verification process stuff should take more than a few minutes. We could even do a 3 way phone call with my bank and/or my customers if needed. This is unreal. Feels like a bad dream. I am new to offering electronic payments to customers. I had no idea Quckbooks was going to take my hard earned money like this and just lock it away somewhere and the people holding it won't even speak to me. Please someone give me Risk department direct line. Help me out of this terrible nightmare
