QuickBooks Q&A

Still learning how QBO's Banking works. Not at all intuitive for me. Help? I few days ago I emailed a receipt. I confirmed it is showing in the Receipts tab. I waited for the banking transaction to show in my banking feed to see how matching works. Today the banking transaction downloaded. Even though the Description/vendor field values and Amounts field values are identical, QBO didn't offer to match them. First question: I thought QBO would offer to match a transaction with a receipt, automatically when the transactions are imported from my bank, if there was a match. It didn't. Is it supposed to? QBO didn't match them, so I did it myself. Or at least I tried. From the banking feed, I clicked Find match. QBO didn't find it. I read somewhere it would find it if I Added it first. So I added it. Still no match found. Second question: I thought QBO would offer to match a transaction with a receipt if I specifically manually told it to g
Hi all, I have a new client that recently converted from Desktop. The QB team did the conversion. My initial bank reconciliation shows an opening balance of a significantly large negative balance. I reviewed the register and didn't find a date with that amount. Also, there was no opening balance equity entry. How can I adjust the beginning balance and complete an initial reconciliation?

My last name is the same as a ubiquitous department store - Macy's - so QB almost always categorizes a transaction vendor as being Macy's. It drives me crazy.
Our company just started with QB online. I'm trying to forward email receipts but I keep getting a reply saying that this email address is not registered for forwarding email receipts. However, I'm using the same email address that I signed in with. When I look at the help page and try to click on the link listed to take me to authorize my email address, it says "We're sorry. We can't find the page you requested." I'm lost.
In QBO, under "books review", there is a section that lists uncleared transactions. When I went in to clear these up, I discovered that they HAVE cleared, and were reconciled. So, why are they showing as uncleared, and how do I fix it? It makes the list rather useless if it's showing me transactions that are cleared.
Hi everyone,Every time I run a report in QuickBooks Online, it defaults to what QBO calls the "Modern View." Personally, I find this view difficult to work with. For example, when I run a Balance Sheet, the report is crammed into a “window within a window” layout, with data pushed far to the right — and there’s no horizontal scrollbar. I have to click and drag or highlight text just to see basic figures.Even worse, I can’t use Ctrl+F to search for specific line items unless they’re already visible on screen — which defeats the point of a search function.Because of these issues, I find myself clicking “Switch to Classic View” every single time I run a report. Classic View doesn't have these problems. My questions are:Is there a way to make Classic View the default so I don't have to switch manually every time?Does Intuit plan to keep Classic View long-term, or is it being phased out? The name “Classic” makes me nervous that it's on the chopping block. Thanks in advance
My normal dashboard is not there, nor are my products. I can force it to start an invoice and find my customers, but it will not add products or even show them.
It is about 3 days that Quickbooks App does not opent. It llaunches the first Intuit page and than a white page pops up with the icon turning in the center forever.it works for the first time only if I delete and install it again, but, after a while if I have to open it again the same happens!
I need to edit a completed reconciliation report. I put in the incorrect ending statement date. How do I do this?
Several transactions were put in the wrong category. I need to fix that, but the transactions have already been reconciled. My accountant says if I undo them to edit it breaks her reconcilation. How do I edit these transactions?
I have automatic transactions setup in quickbooks and when the ACH transaction gets downloaded from my bank, QB won't see them as matching transactions.
As with others I was forced to move to Online, though I greatly dislike the business model of subscriptions unfortunately there is no option these days. Long story short the migration was terrible as there were a tremendous number of incorrect transactions, duplicates...... that were brought into the online system. This would not have been so bad if the software was able to move quickly. We are in our 3rd month and it is getting worse not better as the further we dig into reports the slower it gets.We are REALLY struggling with the following:1. The software, both Online and the Desktop app are INCREDIBLY slow, between clicks is often 5-10 Seconds of watching the green dots spinning on the loading screen. I have tried Private mode in the browser, cleared cache, service at all our location is full Gigabit speeds nothing that found in the guides offered any help. I will say the the online browser is better than the Desktop App but the flow of the App is much m
I can't locate instructions regarding how to match QB Payments batches involving multiple payments. I see them in the Pending Transactions matching area in Bank Transactions, but I'm not sure how to manage them. I can match all other types of transactions except these batches. The only way I could find to get them into my bank register was to go to QB Merchant Center, look for the customers that paid in the batches, then go to Bank Deposits and click on the respective receipts. After doing this, I reconciled my bank statements. Even though the transactions landed in the bank register, they also remain in Pending Transactions (options to click are post, split, create rule, exclude). Any thoughts on how to get them out of Pending Transactions? Should I select exclude? Going forward, I'm not sure what the correct step-by-step procedure is for managing QB Payments batches.
Hello new to QBO 2024I just established a sole proprietorship (DBA). I hired someone to help me build my website. She works alone (no employees). Her "company" is just her name.I have no idea if she is a sole proprietorship or s corp or whatever. Found her on Facebook. For all I know, she doesn't even have a company established and she's just someone who is good at websites. She just charged me hourly for the time she tutored me. When I go to pay her and record this, is she a vendor expense or a contractor expense in QBO? I have read all the posts but its still not clear to me what the distinction is. Also, if I understand tax law, I need to provide a 1099 to everyone I pay $600+ total during the course of 2024, correct? Do I just need to check the box for 1099 tracking in her profile if I know I plan to spend more than $600? Also, I imagine I need her ss # or tax ID number to issue a 1099. Is there a way for quickbooks to request documentation from her? Does th
I found numerous errors from my old office manager and want to delete all the bank reconciliations from this year to date (5 of them) - I want to keep the transactions that I have not changed already though.
I NEED TO REVERSE A DELETION
After 14 years with QuickBooks I tried to log into my account tonight just to find:"We can't find anyone with "____@____.com"and then"We didn't find any companies for this account" QuickBooks just completely deleted my account! It shows that I logged into it 2 weeks ago, and they just billed me March 1, 2024, 2 weeks ago. I am so pissed! I tried to call them but of course they're closed.Has anyone had this happen and did they recover your account after this?? I am so angry!H.R.
Hello all, I'm very new to Quickbooks, and so this may be something simple I'm missing but I can't, for the life of me, figure out what's happening here or why. Little bit of context: we do all of our project mangement (estimates, invoices, POs, COs, etc., etc.) outside of QBO via a software called Houzz which is geared more towards construction/remodel project management and fits our needs better. I do not have Houzz integrated with QBO as Houzz was wanting me to disable several settings in QBO that have been enabled and in use (this is a whole nother topic I don't want to get into). So, our workflow looks like this:Create Invoice in Houzz>Send to client>Client pays via check>Mark as paid in Houzz>Deposit said check into our bank account (which is linked with QBO). I then will go into QBO and got to Bank Transactions>Locate deposit under the "For Review" tab>Add the important details (Invoice #, assign to customer/project, etc.)>Then click "Add". I only
Hi! I am a new user and I am trying to figure out how to fix duplicate bank accounts/transactions. This is a rather lengthy post with the detailed info of how I got here, but if you scroll to the bottom you will see a summary. Thanks! Here's what happened: I was having issues linking my bank when I first created my account, so instead I downloaded the transactions and manually loaded them. Fast forward a week and I was able to link the account, but I selected the same start date as the file that I loaded, resulting in overlapping transactions for 4 months (I guess I thought it would know it was the same account, or give me that option, but that was my mistake). I was able to speak to QB support person, who told me to unlink the account. When I did that it is no longer showing in the Bank Transactions section, she told me since it hadn't been reconciled it was no longer there. Great! I figured I could just go back and link the account to the existing bank account that wa
