What is the best way to charge a sales rep for COG on customer evaluation units/samples? For example, we have inventory items that were purchased and brought into inventory ($50 for example sake) and then invoiced to Customer X at $174 so we can track pricing. We wish to credit the client for the eval/samples while charging the sales rep for the COG ($50). I created a credit inventory item with a COG GL and add that line at "-$174" but this charges the rep for $174, not the true COG ($50) so that doesn't work. the only way i can think to do this is to issue a full credit ($174) after invoice to apply to the original invoice ($174), which brings the goods back into stock ($50) and then adjust the goods out to a COG account and use create a "customer account" that is dedicated to the sales rep, and link the adjustment to that customer account so it shows on the P&L for the sales rep. is there a better way with less steps?
My company and name and address show on the logo so i do not want them to show on my invoice.
I am running QuickBooks Simple Start for my small service company. Quite some time ago my aging began miscalculating. I have tried verifying and rebuilding data and setting the default to Report Date. None of this restores proper aging reporting. I know it's an old application... but does anyone know how this might be fixed? Peter

Doing a reconciliation of a very little-used checking account... no activity for months. Past reconcilliations have been simple and perfect. (No new activity, so only about three clicks and done.) Go in this month to do the same (no activity last month) and as usual, my Ending Balance is the same as my Beginning Balance (same as Ending last month) and since there's nothing to Clear, my Cleared balance is the same, boring amount. BUT, this time, right below the two Identical Balances, QB shows "Difference 180.00"... and if I try to reconcile, it asks me if I want to make an Adjustment.... how could there be a Difference if the amounts are identical?
Hi QBO Community,We’re a healthcare staffing organization and are working under a Joint Venture (unpopulated) structure that must comply with strict participation rules for each contract awarded. I’m looking for guidance on how to track and report compliance without using the Projects feature in QuickBooks Online. JV Compliance Requirements (Example: $100 Contract)We have three main partners:SDVOSB, Managing Venturer & ProtegeMentor, Large BusinessSubcontractorsEvery contract must meet the following:51% of the total contract value ($51 of $100) must be completed by our JV workforce:Of that $51:At least 40% ($20.40) (can do 100% as well) must be completed by SDVOSBThe remaining 60% ($30.60) (max only 60%) can be completed by mentorThe remaining $49 of the contract may be sub-contracted to large businesses or non-SDVOSB entities. What I Need Help With:I would like to track this compliance per contract, and need help designing a tracking structure inside QBO that would allow
The primary principal on our account retired, and we are trying to get it changed. I spoke with QB and they sent me the form to fill out. I noticed its an enrollment form, I also am not sure where the current principal and the future principal should sign, it does not differentiate.
I can also run budget by class but I'm having trouble running actuals vs budget by class. I'd like to also run this report by month.
I went to process payroll for a client with multiple contractors and when I click "Pay Contractors" the view has changed. I also need to flip pages to bounce back and forth when entering their hours since they are not given to me in alphabetical order. I used to just be able to scroll through the list. The layout for entering the information has even changed but thats moot- I just want a complete list of contractors or payroll is going to take me 10x as long if I have to keep flipping through pages. UGHHHHHHHHHH

How to I reverse a local tax payment?
The PayPal transaction details list a full mailing address, but I'd need to copy and paste it into a new customer record. This would be too time consuming for my initial set up.
Im trying to add my w-9 to my invoice so its all one message
Hello, My name is Susie and I am the new inexperienced bookkeeper for our small church with less than 50 members at present. We have purchased the QBO for nonprofits and that is what I am trying to set up now.We have a checking account and a savings account. I want to understand the chart of accounts correctly. I need to be able to designate certain amounts into various accounts that I know I will need to add each week. For example, offerings in one acct. Missions in one acct. Boys and Girls missions and so forth. My concern is how do I do this correctly so those accounts each have their own starting amount?I also will need to add an account for utility payments, and possibly more for other things that may come up down the road. I would appreciate all and any advice here. I did purchase a book but it was for the desktop version instead of online. So I still plan to get the correct one, but I'm a little confused right now. Thank yo
Project Detail Costs report shows total of transaction but lists that total as many times as the transaction was divided. If we purchased 10 items for this project and separated the items based on COGS, Equipment, Sales Tax Paid and so forth, the total for the entire amount paid shows as many times as the number of line items, causing our expenses to be off by thousands of dollars.
