I'm trying to reconcile my most recent credit card statement, but when I got to the reconciliation screen it says "Your account isn't ready to reconcile" and the "Previous Balance" number is wrong. It doesn't match the beginning balance on my current cc statement, the end balance on my previous cc statement, or even the ending balance on the previous reconciliation report from quickbooks itself. Which of course all match and are the correct number. It also says "There's a discrepancy because at least one transaction was changed or deleted after it was reconciled." But I don't see any deleted transactions. This is a strange one. For some reason the "Previous Balance" number in the reconciliation window is just wrong. But it's right everywhere else. Any ideas?
The checks were printing fine until about a month ago and now, everything is printing one line down. So, I have gone into the print set up to fine tune the alignment. I was originally at 30 for vertical, so I tried moving it up to 15. Then I printed a sample. This is where I am having a problem. The sample prints the same no matter where I set the vertical - 0, 15, 30, -15 - I pick any of them and print the sample and it just stays in the same spot. Please help...
For the past few months, I've found 1-3 deposit entries in our check register that are duplicated. I'm sure I didn't enter these deposits twice. I'd like to know a) why this is happening, and b) how to prevent it. Thanks for any leads.
I am — sadly — well aware of the “solution” for dealing with vendors and customers being the same person/entity. This is not a request for help in finding a solution. Instead, it is an observation. From someone who is a highly-skilled programmer and database designer. The fact this situation isn’t handled intuitively is a huge, dinosaur-killing-level blunder on the part of Quicken. Accounting is supposed to represent the real world. In the real world individual entities can fulfill many roles. Quicken attempts to be accounting software. Consequently, this “problem” should’ve been addressed in the earliest architectural discussions for the Quickbooks database. It was not. Shame on Quicken management for letting this flaw exist. But anyone can make a mistake. The real nastiness is that Quicken management cares so little about their customers that they haven’t made fixing the problem a AAA don’t-go-home-until-it’s-fixed priority. Which makes it abundantly cle
My deposits are showing in the bank registry as a deposit and a payment. Is this correct or is this something should look into.
I set the alignment area and print a few bills. Later, I will go to print checks for payroll and the setting is off again. Is there more detailed options for print alignment somewhere?
Hello, I'm new QB user less than 6 months experience. May I please request expert opinion for bank transaction matching. Previously we have "A" bank that we used to make payment to all the vendor. Whenever we schedule payment to vendor, after the payment schedule date is over, the QB - bank transaction - under the bank account number - For review tab - the transaction automatically pop-up and under "Assigned to" - suggested bill payment automatically appear and I could do the matching. But this month, we used "B" bank, which is already linked in QB. Under that "B" bank, no bill payment automatically pop-up. Thus I choose "Match" features, search by "From, To, Filtered by and Search by Vendor name". I couldn't find my bills although I have created all the bill with right context & data. How could I sort this issue out? I really appreciate all the expert kind assistance and guidance on this matter. Thank you and warm regards,Grace
I have been trying to Categorize Banking transactions in the "For review" section by using the "Find Match" feature and for some transactions the find transaction doesn't find Invoices that I know do not have a match. I've been using the "Find Match" feature since 2020 so I'm well aware on how to use it at this point, but I am starting to get annoyed that it doesn't find all invoices that are unmatched or unresolved. For clarity, I have a Shopify store that is connected to QBO and auto-generates Invoices and Payments that are made through the Store and my Bank Account is connected to QBO and is fully updated. We get paid through Shopify and those payments have fees that get taken out prior to being deposited. So the deposit doesn't match the Invoice amount, which is fine because "Find Match" allows you to "Resolve" the difference which is a big help. But if the Invoice doesn't even show up in "Find Match" then I cant do anything. Here's an example (fake numbers for security):
I loved the new updated email format when sending out invoices to customers. Unfortunately, two weeks ago it reverted back to the old format. Is there a setting that I need to change or did they decide that Desktop users have to stick to the old, out of date style? Has anyone else had this issue?
I keep getting popups for adding payroll and other services. How can I disable these notifications?
I have Quickbooks Premier Plus Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition 2023 on my desktop. I was balancing my February bank statement and accidentally clicked on the Undo Last Reconciliation after I reconciled February. It didn't undo the reconciliation as far as I can tell since the February invoices are showing that they've been cleared on the checkbook, but if I click on Begin Reconciliation again, the beginning balance is incorrect. This is an account that doesn't get much use. We're going to be closing it so there's not much in there. The February beginning balance should be $30.23, ending <$61.25>. After I clicked on the Undo Last Reconciliation, it's now showing a beginning balance for the next reconciliation as <$975.10>. I have NO idea where that number came from because there aren't any reconciliations with that number. When I click on Locate Discrepancies, what pops up is a blank report with no numbers. I've clicked on GOTO, chose both amounts, b
Loging into https://qbo.intuit.com/ ,https://accounts.intuit.com/, and even through https://quickbooks.com fails, although I can login to this community and account management with no problem. I'm able to enter my username and password, receive a text with validation code, enter the code, then the browser window shows a blank page with:"Hmmm… can't reach this page""Check if there is a typo in app.qbo.intuit.com" and "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN". I haven't been able to login to my online payroll account in a month as I first though their website was down. It's worked for me for years, then suddenly last month after Intuit updated their website, I can no longer login. I've worked with support 4 times on the phone and even chat with no joy. I've cleared cache, etc..., installed a new browser (Chrome), installed all Windows updates, rebooted, connected to networks in 3 different states, same issue every time. Windows 10 with the latest Edg
Still learning how QBO's Banking works. Not at all intuitive for me. Help? I few days ago I emailed a receipt. I confirmed it is showing in the Receipts tab. I waited for the banking transaction to show in my banking feed to see how matching works. Today the banking transaction downloaded. Even though the Description/vendor field values and Amounts field values are identical, QBO didn't offer to match them. First question: I thought QBO would offer to match a transaction with a receipt, automatically when the transactions are imported from my bank, if there was a match. It didn't. Is it supposed to? QBO didn't match them, so I did it myself. Or at least I tried. From the banking feed, I clicked Find match. QBO didn't find it. I read somewhere it would find it if I Added it first. So I added it. Still no match found. Second question: I thought QBO would offer to match a transaction with a receipt if I specifically manually told it to g
Hi all, I have a new client that recently converted from Desktop. The QB team did the conversion. My initial bank reconciliation shows an opening balance of a significantly large negative balance. I reviewed the register and didn't find a date with that amount. Also, there was no opening balance equity entry. How can I adjust the beginning balance and complete an initial reconciliation?
My last name is the same as a ubiquitous department store - Macy's - so QB almost always categorizes a transaction vendor as being Macy's. It drives me crazy.
Our company just started with QB online. I'm trying to forward email receipts but I keep getting a reply saying that this email address is not registered for forwarding email receipts. However, I'm using the same email address that I signed in with. When I look at the help page and try to click on the link listed to take me to authorize my email address, it says "We're sorry. We can't find the page you requested." I'm lost.
In QBO, under "books review", there is a section that lists uncleared transactions. When I went in to clear these up, I discovered that they HAVE cleared, and were reconciled. So, why are they showing as uncleared, and how do I fix it? It makes the list rather useless if it's showing me transactions that are cleared.
Hi everyone,Every time I run a report in QuickBooks Online, it defaults to what QBO calls the "Modern View." Personally, I find this view difficult to work with. For example, when I run a Balance Sheet, the report is crammed into a “window within a window” layout, with data pushed far to the right — and there’s no horizontal scrollbar. I have to click and drag or highlight text just to see basic figures.Even worse, I can’t use Ctrl+F to search for specific line items unless they’re already visible on screen — which defeats the point of a search function.Because of these issues, I find myself clicking “Switch to Classic View” every single time I run a report. Classic View doesn't have these problems. My questions are:Is there a way to make Classic View the default so I don't have to switch manually every time?Does Intuit plan to keep Classic View long-term, or is it being phased out? The name “Classic” makes me nervous that it's on the chopping block. Thanks in advance
