Please help me understand this how to deal with my situation. You have been charged $100,000.00 legal expenses in 2024 and you paid $90,000.00 in 2024.The vendor applied to $10k toward General Corp, and the rest ($70k) to IP costs. The remainder of $10k was kept in their trust account without applied. All was entered as Expense ($90k) in QBO and categorized as spread as IP and General Corp Expense account. The year ended and now when you reconcile, I need to enter $10k of debit for the vendor, IP cost to enter in Asset account (since it is intangible asset?), and the unapplied $10k in order to correct the ledger. Can you please explain if I am thinking wrong and if not, how do we do that?Too basic? Expense or Asset? Please help me understand this how to deal with my situation. I am a small business owner using QuickBooks self-employed. I do not accept credit cards from my clients. However, I see that Intuit is charging me transaction fees. Why is this?

Hello we are on the essentials plan and have two people doing sales and would prefer if each sales person gets their own estimate template with their phone number and email attached so the client contacts them directly. I tried setting custom forms for estimates, but it seems if I change one it changes both. Is this done through different users?
Please read the entire message before responding. It's very frustrating when you list what you have already tried and someone with an EMPL badge suggests you try the same thing. There are instructions for adding QBO as a third-party administrator for Massachusetts Unemployment here. That is not what I want to do. There are no such instructions for adding QBO as a TPA for Massachusetts withholding. The link for this in the help files goes to the same page as the link provided above. The question was asked here long ago and the answer was to select Add third party administrator in MassTaxConnect. There is no such option in MassTaxConnect. MassTaxConnect instructions clearly state that the third party must request access, which we then approve. So how do we get QuickBooks to request that access? Or is there a workaround? Surely someone has figured this out.
When googling this, it said go to "Manage Sales Tax" but I don't see that anywhere on the Sales Tax screen. How do others deal with this? The only work around I have is actually pay the SBOE for May and June, then post both months' payment in QB's. I shouldn't have to do this tho, so wondering if anyone has an actual fix?
I have several customers who are tax exempt, but when I am creating an invoice, Quickbooks Online defaults the line item as taxable (the tax box is checked). If the customer is tax exempt, shouldn't the tax box on each line item of an invoice default to unchecked? If so, how do I get this to work properly? Thank you.
HOW TO ADD A MANUAL EXPENSE TO QB
Is there a way to have the bank register show more info 'at a glance' without having to click into it further? If we wanted to add GL # and if a charge is split between multiple payee accounts (or projects), it lists them all and their breakdowns without having to click into the charge that says 'split'? Thanks!
The employer & employee are in California.
I work in office and at home. Is there a way to be able to sync employee hours from the QB timer to QB Desktop remotely? The web connector is installed on my laptop which is the same computer I take home to work on. I am only able to sync when I am in the office, which is causing issues.
The company I am apart of has 3 different quickbooks files for each company under us. We have a program that interacts with Quickbooks desktop through the quickbooks web-connector. Currently, for the program to sync with quickbooks, we need to have the quickbooks file open for the company we are wishing to sync with the program. This can be brutal having to switch in and out of company files in order to use the web-connector. We also run into a problem when the company we wish to sync is not the primary file logged in. The base question I have:1. Is there a way run a web connector and have it access a quickbooks file without the file being open on the desktop? I know this situation might be unique and my description may not be very good so ask me any questions if you need any clarification of how we are using the web-connector.
I need help with a workaround and keep books clear: I received (2) customer payments, applied to invoice and deposited. Turns out they were for another vendor's invoices and I need to refund money. How do I properly credit so I can refund the customer the funds and back out payments on the invoice (full amount needs to show again as they will pay it later)?
The QB date for payroll was wrong so I deleted the check and paid them manually. Where do I enter the information for the W-2 form?
We use PayPal to accept Cost-Share responsibilities from our clients. We bill their credit / debit card weekly. Every week, we "Receive Payments" from the client when we run their card for their Cost-Share responsibility creating "Unused Credits" to be used when the insurance EOB is received. We submit our claims to the insurance companies every other month. Every 6 - months we will reconcile our insurance claims. When we do this, if we were told the wrong cost-share amount by the insurance company and owe the client money, we will refund the client their money owed via PayPal. At the end of the year, we will deposit the PayPal money in one lump sum. In the "Make Deposit" window, we account for the refund to reconcile the transaction. My question is, which "From Account" do we use in order to track that refund back to the customer's account so it does not show an "Unused Credits" to their account? We use the client's name in the "
i just see a notice in my account that says its on hold.
I currently use a "Group" item in QuickBooks Desktop Manufacturing - Enterprise, with the do not print set, for quoting purposes. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way when I turn the estimate into a Sales Order that the lines previously not printing from the Group could be made to print on the Sales Order. For example I have a group set for quoting multiple items that go into making one part. When I print the Quote it only shows me a total for that Group on the Estimate, which is exactly what I want. When the customer places the order based on that Estimate I would like for the exact same items in the Group to show and print on the Sales Order so our works know what tasks are required to make that part. Is this possible? Thank you in advance for your help!
Has anyone noticed that "saved" CC/BCC email addresses on invoices have disappeared? Now I have to copy/paste email addresses for each invoice. I've done the recommended "clearing caches" and the account settings too. Finally got a case opened - QB says they are investigating the issue but who know long it will take to get it resolved. The changes they are making are frustrating and creating more work!
For example, each bank deposit shows a specific fund on the transaction, yet the Financial Position report places them all in the "not specified" column. "Class" is toggled on.
If I am viewing my check register my "ending balance" shows the correct amount. However, if I view my "Chart of Accounts" my bank balance shows substantially more. I can not figure out what is wrong here. My banking number matches my bank register perfectly. But the second I click on Chart of Accounts it is completely different. I need help with this for Quickbooks Online!
Is there a way to consolidate multiple item receipts into a single bill? We receive a single monthly bill for multiple deliveries that occur during the month for products that are ordered on a VMI blanket Purchase order and need to find a way to consolidate all the item receipts entered into a single bill in order to enter the bill from the vendor.
