I would like to see the exact charges for credit card & bank payments, including the corresponding transactions
My client worked in her QB on Christmas Eve with no problems. On Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2026 when she went to open her company, she got the message, "QuickBooks Desktop needs to update your company file." Soon after responding "Yes", this message appeared: "We can't continue updating your company file, because we've lost the connection to it." (Lost connection? This installation is on a standalone computer.) She spent 4 1/2 hours with Intuit Support, who couldn't determine the problem. We spent additional hours on the phone with Intuit Support, with no resolution. However, we were solicited to upgrade to Enterprise version, with no suggestion of how this might help. We also were solicited to send the company file out for repair. This, in spite of the fact that the many copies of the company file going back months all experienced the same problem within this updated program. I took an entirely different computer, fresh install of Windows 11 Pro, fresh install of QB
I just spent an hour and a half with a very nice support person, HOWEVER Be aware that your MN Sick time does NOT stop at 48 hours if an employee has used some of the Sick hours. I have an employee that is at 50+hours because he used 16 hours. The accrual is ONLY looking at what is available. Should be a simple IF Available + Used is >= to 48 STOP ACCRUING. The programmers are supposed to be looking into this. I have over 100 employees that I now need to watch each payroll if they go over the 48 hours.Let's hope they can fix this quickly. If they don't they are going to be a lot of MN people calling support.
Ok, I said it. Who is with me? This is supposed to be an "enterprise" level platform but constantly having to go into single user mode makes it not even qualify as a small business product. I can't imagine if we were really enterprise with 50 users. What would I do? Page over the loudspeakers. "Hey, everyone please stop and exit Quickbooks so I can go into single user mode to change a simple preference". All I want to do in this case is turn off auto-apply bill credits. I can't even do that because one of the sales guys left his computer on with QB running so I have to wait for him to come in. SOOOO FRUSTRATING. It's 2026, QB needs to fix this.
I have an employee with a loan he is making payments each pay day and his paycheck stub shows his balance each time. His loan balance did not roll over on his January paycheck.
I pay my employees overtime after 8 hours in a day, not just after 40 hours. Also, I pay overtime on Saturdays and double time on Sundays. Will QuickBooks know that if they did not work 40 regular hours in a week but worked more than 8 hours on a day meaning they got overtime, that they will not have qualified overtime for tax reporting. For example:Jon works 24 hours total Sunday to Saturday. But of that 24 hours he was paid 4 hours overtime (which we use the programmed hourly rate, overtime, and double time in QB). Will QB know that since they did not hit 40 regular hours this pay period, the 4 hours of oI pay my employees overtime after 8 hours in a day, not just after 40 hours. I have two different companies each with its own checking account at Bank of America. However, I only have one login at BofA for both accounts. I previously was able to connect each of my QBO accounts to that BofA login and then choose the checking account I wanted to connect. Now however when one is connected, the other disconnects. How can I connect both at the same time? I am also having the exact same issue with American Express. This began for both of them over the past few months, though I have had this set up for over 8 years with no issue. Thank you so much for any help!!
There should be two different date boxes when entering bills to be paid. A bill from a vendor could have a date of 12/1 but the service was really in Nov, so I want to post it in November, but the post date is driven by the "bill date", which is very frustrating. Why can't there be an 'invoice date" and a "posting date", with a default to the invoice date unless something is entered? This is a basic feature of any accounting system and would be very easy to fix!
My company bought 5 items that cost $50000, as my company did not have $50000 in cash at the bank, I used my own money and put from my personal account to the company account $30000, the company then paid for those items. I showed that as other current liability (That loan will be repaid in a few days). Those five items were added to inventory. However, my daughter wants 2 of those items and deposited $20000 into my personal account thinking that was where I had made the payment.I cannot get my head around how to record or even handle this.Any help please.
I'm reviewing our vendors for 1099 processing. I'm trying to figure out how to add an account for 1099-Misc for rent payments. I have been able to process these in years prior, but when I add the vendor (which is still properly set up for 1099 processing) no amount appears for this vendor. I need to add the account to the list for 1099 processing but can't find a prompt for this. Does anyone know how I can do this?
As much as I hate the new shipping manager and I cannot find anyone who can help me with it, I am doing my best to learn it on my own. I have accepted the fact that it is horrible compared to the old shipping manager and I have actually shipped two packages with it. The problem I am having now is it is putting the next days date on the shipping label instead of the date I am shipping it so not it looks like all the packages will arrive a day later than they are supposed to. As usual a call with tech support got me nowhere.

I am trying to e-file 1099's using Tax1099. I must say every year there is an issue using this third party service. The error message this year is "failed to receive information". I am so frustrated. I spent 5 hours with my IT guy Monday trying to get it corrected. My IT guy suggested contacting Tax1099 support which I did. They have been less than helpful. No phone number to call! Only emails back and forth with very little information on the solution. When they email a suggestion, it is something I have already tried. It has been a full day to get a response from them. I am running Enterprise Solutions and have a paid Payroll subscription that is up to date. I do not understand why we cannot get prompt support for them on an issue that is time sensitive. I plan to call QB Payroll support today to see if they can help. I am not hopeful. I typically use my IT guy for QB related issues, because he can fix it faster and easier than QB support. But this one even has him stumped. Is anyone
can i add empty lines for spacing in invoices?
This customer has paid via ach bank previously but this invoice is not allowing it. This invoice is much higher- is there a limit to ach bank transfer? I can't figure out how to get them to pay online.
I am in California and we are required to pay overtime on anything over 8 hours per day AND over 40 hours per week. However, "qualified" overtime is only on that "half" time of the time and a half that is over 40 hours per week. In order to pay proper overtime, I have to enter the total overtime hours in the overtime payroll item generated by QuickBooks. The Qualified OT Tracking payroll item populated by QuickBooks is set up as a Company Contribution. I can calculate the amount that is qualified, however, when I use the function provided by QuickBooks as Qualified Overtime Tracking, because it is set up as a company contribution, it puts the amount I enter there as a liability to be paid by the employer. When I create the liability check, there it sits, never to be paid which creates a reconciliation problem down the road. This solution Intuit has implemented doesn't seem to be ready for prime time, and I have payroll that has to be done by tomorrow
When I select Chat which says 0 wait, no contact is made.
We are looking to include a long legal description on our invoices for our protection. Has anybody included the legal wording on an invoice so it prints properly with the legality?
I am considering filing 1099's online. when I get to the final page it says "E-file and upgrade". Upgrade? What? Why? Upgrade to what? Also, how do I do state filing?
