Hello, My name is Susie and I am the new inexperienced bookkeeper for our small church with less than 50 members at present. We have purchased the QBO for nonprofits and that is what I am trying to set up now.We have a checking account and a savings account. I want to understand the chart of accounts correctly. I need to be able to designate certain amounts into various accounts that I know I will need to add each week. For example, offerings in one acct. Missions in one acct. Boys and Girls missions and so forth.My concern is how do I do this correctly so those accounts each have their own starting amount?I also will need to add an account for utility payments, and possibly more for other things that may come up down the road. I would appreciate all and any advice here. I did purchase a book but it was for the desktop version instead of online. So I still plan to get the correct one, but I'm a little confused right now. Project Detail Costs report shows total of transaction but lists that total as many times as the transaction was divided. If we purchased 10 items for this project and separated the items based on COGS, Equipment, Sales Tax Paid and so forth, the total for the entire amount paid shows as many times as the number of line items, causing our expenses to be off by thousands of dollars.
Does anyone know what is happening on Quickbooks On Line on August 1 that you have to opt out of?

Hello QuickBooks Community,I'm experiencing a frustrating visual bug with my invoice reminder emails, and I'm hoping someone here has encountered this or can offer a solution.The Problem: My automated invoice reminder emails are displaying an incorrect "BALANCE DUE" amount in the email body itself. For example, an invoice that is actually for $150.00 USD is showing as $15,000.00 USD in the email reminder. It appears to be adding two extra zeros visually.Crucially, when I or my customer click on the "View and pay" link in the email, the invoice that opens on the QuickBooks payment page displays the correct amount of $150.00 USD.What I've already checked/confirmed:The original invoice in QuickBooks has the correct amount ($150.00 USD). I can't adjust anything on an invoice that has autopay set up or autopay cancels, so if a customer gets a credit how do i apply so it doesn't charge their card the full amount? Thank you! Annette
This is a continuation of the Fixing wrong Products and Service and pass through donationsI created a bank account for the Foundation donationsI moved the service from the Merchandise Sales to Foundation donations bank account by deleting the services and adding back. That did move the donations from the Merchandise Sales to the Foundation donations bank. However, that broke the match to the Quickbooks deposit so none of the invoices are paid. How do I get the match back?
Hello,I've recently run into a problem while installing my QuickBooks 2019 licensing on a fresh Win 11 build. When launching the application it sends an error stating that QuickBooks needs internet explorer enabled to run. Unfortunately on Win 11 it's seemingly impossible to get Internet Explorer to run.I have tried enabling IE mode in microsoft edge but am still met with the same errors given before. I've also tried to enable IE through the "optional features" settings in microsoft which has been the most recommended work around, but unfortunately neither of those options have worked. I was wondering if anyone in this community has run into anything similar, or if anyone has any other options they suggest trying.Thanks
I had to get a new computer and I need to get access to my quickbooks that have not been backed up
I have 2022 Quickbooks Desktop (Mac) and have very little online needs. I don't do payroll or invoicing through QB. I am being prompted to switch to Quickbooks online but prefer to stay on desktop. The only thing I need is to be able to import my bank transactions (qbo file). Will I still be able to do that if I stay on this desktop version. And I don't have to update my desktop version, do I?
I have applied for a Quickbooks Checking account and despite having proper documentation for my business, the application keeps being declined for not meeting the acceptable use policy. I have confirmed my business is not included in the list of prohibited uses under the policy, but I can not get any guidance on why my application keeps being declined. Any suggestions?
When I started payroll I hadn't received my RT number so I used my EIN number instead. I now have an RT number but I'm unable to enter it into QuickBooks; it won't allow me to delete the old number.
In QBO, there is only an option to add a credit card. A customer switched payments from a credit card to a check. Despite saving the check as the preferred payment method, we have several instances where the Credit Card is charged. We must have a way to remove the credit card from their account.
I am working on my Bank Reconciliation and noticed that a Journal entry is showing up on the deposit/credit side. However, it is for a stale dated check from a prior year. Can I just go to the register and mark it clear. This is for Desktop not Online QB.
I use QB Desktop. The memorized transactions groups I have stopped opening to allow edit or delete. Any suggestions?

I currently use Quicken and have for 30+years. At the same time, I use QBO in a limited way meaning that I currently ONLY use it to generate invoices and get paid on those invoices from my customers. Needless to say, my bank account that's tied to those payments shows an amount equal to all those payments. Beginning in 2026 I'd like to stop using Quicken and begin using QBO instead. How do I reset the bank account to zero (or whatever the opening balance is on January 1, 2026)? Is the best thing for me to do is a mock reconcile to bring me to whatever opening balance I need it to be?
