We buy items at auctions and resell them. The things we buy are always different. How can I track sales and expenses by auction? I have heard of tags. Not sure that would work but I can’t find it in my version of QBO. For instance we might go to Phoenix and purchase several pallets of various things. There would be the expense of the purchase, the travel, freight, etc. Then we would track the sales and the expenses that go with the sale such as ebay fees, shipping, etc. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
I have multiple bookkeeping clients and I frequently match single bank transactions to multiple QB entries. I have a new client and we recently migrated their system from QBDT to QBO. Within Bank Transactions, the system is only finding exact matches, and not showing smaller amounts for a multiple transaction to single bank transaction match. The transactions were all recorded after the migration. I have gone through 4 levels of help through QB help line and no one has been able to figure this out. Has anyone experienced this and is there a solution? Thank you!
We have been dealing with a QuickBooks Payments issue since July 8, 2026, about 2 months. On July 8, 4 unauthorized contractor payments totaling $238k were sent through QuickBooks during the system issue that morning. We immediately reported them, and our bank successfully recovered the funds. We then closed the old bank account and opened a new one.Since then, we have been unable to link the new bank account to QuickBooks Payments through “account-payment-add bank” or “Merchant center” due to repeated error messages. We have contacted QB approximately 8 times and spent 30+ hours with Support, Transaction, Risk, and IT, including screen-sharing sessions, but the issue remains unresolved.Approximately $166,000 is currently being withheld by QuickBooks, and this has caused a serious cash-flow problem for our business.IT told us that many other companies are experiencing the same issue. How can we get the fund released? Has anyone experienced this issue and found a successful solution or e
Although our company never signed up for the new pay feature, QBO has allowed one of our customers to use it anyway. The customer made a payment in the amount of $10,500 eleven (11) days ago and QB is STILL HOLDING THIS MONEY!I have spoken to three different people with QB and am being told that the only way to get this money released to us is if we sign up for the new “Pay Feature”. We DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS. I have spent hours on hold with QB trying to resolve this, and I can’t understand for the life of me how this could possibly be legal. I have asked to have the money returned to our customer, but am told that they will hold the money for 30 days before returning it to the customer.I do understand that this is a payment that our customer willing made to/through QB, but I feel that QB is playing pretty dirty here. They are giving our customers those “PAY NOW” buttons that make the customer believe that we have signed up for this payment service and they are making money by holding
I know there is a feature to send reminders to customers to pay their bill but I don't want to do that for everybody because that would be embarrassing to send someone reminder to everyone when some jobs hasn't even been completed. I only want to send reminders to specific customer that doesn't want to pay their bill, nobody else. Is there a way to do that?
Is it possible to run an A/R Aging report or an Open Invoice report based on a certain type of customer? We have a custom report that we filter by customer, but it is a pain to go through all of our customers and select just the ones we need for the report. And then we have to remember to update that filter if we add any new customers. Any suggestions?

My computer was running SLOOOOW this morning. So I “cleaned it up a bit.” Now my Quickbooks Desktop Pro2018 doesn’t work. To make matters worse I didn’t ”Repair” the program the way you are supposed to. I got so far down the rabbit hole I deleted files instead of uninstalling. YUP. I did that. I have my original disk to install the program. But it is telling me I have a version already installed on my computer - probably because I did NOTHING correctly so far. And I don’t know what to do to get out of this mess. I sure hope there is a lifeline out there to help me!Thanks you.
What in the world just happened with the "Square Connector" update? When I go to Create > Bank Deposits there are now FIFTY SEVEN PAGES (57 pages!!!) of transactions that just magically appeared the other day when I had it previously cleared out because we keep our books up to date (photo attached). These transactions total over $150,000 and go back 2 years! This will completely destroy my bookkeeping, what is happening? How do I fix this? I'm completely frazzled by this disaster. I'm also shocked I haven't found anyone else asking about this, am I the only one? Please help!
Hello,I’m using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant – Canada and prepare monthly payroll for multiple clients. Each month, I generate the PD7A Summary and email the report to the client so they can see the payroll remittance amount they need to pay to CRA.I would like the CRA remittance due date to appear directly on the PD7A Summary report, so when I email the PDF to the client, they can clearly see both:Remittance for period: $871.12Payment due date: September 15, 2026Is there a way to customize the PD7A Summary so QuickBooks automatically displays the applicable remittance due date each month?Ideally, QuickBooks would calculate the due date based on the payroll period/remitter frequency, rather than requiring me to manually add the date every month. If this is not currently possible, is there another QuickBooks Desktop report or built-in method that can show both the PD7A remittance amount and its due date on the PDF sent to the client?Thank you.
I need to add VAT on sales and invoice

Is there a way to print out or export paystubs of all selected employees to separated .pdf files in QuickBook?Currently I only know how to print out one by one.
Quick Answer: An ACH "Pay Now" payment usually declines because of a bank-side issue, including insufficient funds, a closed or invalid account, or an authorization problem. When this happens, QuickBooks sends you an email with a rejection code (R##) explaining why, and most fixes involve either checking your account details or updating the deposit bank account tied to your QuickBooks Payments account. When you click “Pay Now,” you expect to be able to… pay now. Fortunately, QuickBooks Payments sends an email each time an ACH payment is rejected, and that email includes a reference code, the reason for the decline, and the steps needed to fix it. This guide breaks down what those codes mean and how to get the issue resolved. Note: This article covers ACH-specific declines only. If a customer's credit card is being declined instead, see Fix customer's declined credit card payments. Why Did My ACH Payment Get Declined? As ACH payments run through the banking network, declines almost alway

We’re a small nonprofit community magazine on QBO Essentials, managing about 909 recurring invoice templates for advertisers. Most are billed monthly for the issue they run in, but a subset prepay for multiple months at once and their terms are not uniform. Some pay for 3 months, some pay 6, starting at different months, and the pricing varies (a prepay under a certain length does not qualify for the monthly multi-month discount, so it is billed at full price instead). Right now we track all of this in an external spreadsheet and post a manual monthly JE (Debit deferred revenue/credit advertising revenue) to recognize the earned portion. It works, but it’s fully manual and depends on someone keeping the spread sheet current. Before we consider upgrading to Advanced, here's the core question: does Advanced's Revenue Recognition let you set a schedule per invoice/customer — a custom start date and duration chosen at the time each invoice is created — or is a recognition schedule
I created custom fields and want to add them to the AR report. How do I do this?
I recently purchased a sealed and never-before-used QB Pro Desktop 2012 software package with valid license and product codes from eBay. I installed it in my new Lenovo high-end Windows 11 Workstation PC and with much effort, fixups, workarounds, etc. I managed to get it working more or less properly (I’m generally computer savvy with over 40 years of experience working with industrial computers). I read the applicable threads in topic “Registering and older product”. As best I understand from reading the posts in this topic it’s impossible to register this product and obtain a validation code for two reasons: (1) the MS IE browser version used in QB Pro Desktop 2012 has many script errors and won’t connect to the Intuit servers, and a page appears with installation links for popular browsers after clicking ‘Yes’ to continue to run the scripts through the script errors; and (2) even if it connected Intuit would not issue a validation code for this licence due to their onerous software

I'm hoping someone can guide me here. We're looking to do stipends in addition to hourly pay for Travel Nurses specifically. I'm not seeing anywhere specific that gives guidelines for weekly stipend amounts or the guidelines on state hourly pay requirements on if I count the weekly stipends to the hourly pay for regular/overtime. I'm currently basing it off of the GSA site but don't want to do it incorrectly and pay too little if my overall goal is to help the staff with this "gift". Thank you in advance and I hope I'm explaining this properly enough.
[RESOLVED]When performing attempting to link a Google account, we are unable. We click the button in QBO to link the account, step through the process with Google, click the right buttons to approve, get no error message from Google, but then redirected back to an Intuit page that displays the following: {"status":"FAILURE","errors":[{"timestamp":"2026-08-27T19:14:21Z","errorCode":"BNR-545","errorMessage":"INVALID_OR_MISSING_SCOPES_1P","errorDescription":"You still need to authorize QuickBooks Online to connect to your Google Drive. You can do this by linking it again from the Advanced settings page in Account and Settings in QBO Application. Make sure to select the checkbox that allows us to export your backups to your Google Drive."}]}Any suggestions?[UPDATE]This appears to have been a transient issue as it worked after about a half hour.
Quick Answer: You may need to update the connection between your bank and QuickBooks to sync any missing transactions. The missing transactions may have gotten categorized incorrectly, or may not have gotten categorized at all. Check the For review, Categorized, and Excluded tabs in your Bank Transactions, your account history, and the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expense account to locate missing transactions. This is one of the most common things we see after a connection expires, a consent lapses, or a bank feed is migrated. The good news is that in most cases the transactions are recoverable, and often they're already in QuickBooks, just not where you expected them.Note: QuickBooks does not download pending transactions. Only transactions that have already been posted to your bank are downloaded. How Do I Recover Missing Transactions? We’ll begin by updating the connection between your bank and QuickBooks to sync any missing transactions. The connection may need to be updat
