QuickBooks Q&A

A little while back, something changed. What used to happen was that if QBO recognized a bank transaction from a vendor that had been paid and entered into QBO before, it would autofill with that payee name. Otherwise, if it did not recognize the payee info from the bank, it would leave it blank. This was perfect. Not long ago, QBO started almost always filling in the payee (customer/vendor) line. The trouble is if it was a new payee, QBO seems to take some sort of random guess as to who the payee might be, autofilling incorrect information that I now have to fix. I have to do more work than before. I use QBO to do the accounting for a dozen different companies, and import transactions from a least as many banks - and it's happened with every company, every bank. So I know it's not a change on the bank's side. This is driving me nuts. To stop this from happening, is there a way I can disable QBO from auto filling the payee info from imported bank transactions...?

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Allowed Camera, Location (allowed all the time), Notifications, Photos and videos, Physical Activity. Some days it will catch all trips without issue. With no changes made and the phone showing that Mileage is being recorded, that mileage fails to appear unreviewed and just seems to disappear. It missed a 400 mile trip this week. Frustrating in that one reason I picked QB was not needing to pay for an additional app such as Everlance that I used to use.
I'm finding that with the recent updates that began over the last 24 months and culminated with the recent major update, entering transactions in my bank feed is excruciatingly slow. It's as every click of the button requires 2-3 seconds of processing from the QBO website. I have 2 questions:1. Is it possible to simplify display/new features such that I can just enter transactions and categorize them in a timely manner? Quickbooks Online is just so slow when it comes to the bank feed these days.2. It seems like it's trying to auto-categorize, auto-add a class, etc, EVERY time I edit a transaction. Half the times, the suggestions are wildly inconsistent and/or just plain wrong. Can I turn these features off? It is not helpful at all. I must say, since using Quickbooks Online over the past 3 years, I've noticed a steady decline in performance. It seems to get slower by the day. To the point where it's really impacting my quality of life and job efficiency, since it now seems to
Hi, Yet another Quickbooks Online issue.QBO is driving me crazy where it is constantly overriding my manually assigned check numbers. I will enter the check, uncheck "Print Later", assign the number, and then go to Print the check. And before I print, QBO says something like, "this check number has already been assigned, use this number?"So I go back to Checking and pull up the check and the check number has in fact been reverted to a previous wrong number. Then I get stuck in an endless loop of assigning the number, trying to print, having QBO re-assign the number automatically. The only way to work it out is to print the check number "wrong" and then go back and manually enter the correct check number and then hit Save, then go onto the next check. Please advise if there is a solution to this.
Can I turn this off? I use the same computer every day at work and it consistently prompts me to enter a verification code every time I log in. So annoying, yet another horrible feature of this worthless and unintuitive application. How can I disable this? I've checked in my Intuit account and 2-Step Verification is already disabled. So why am I always prompted?
While many Accountant users despise the new "Modern View" reports, based on the email this week it is here to stay. The report has potential but right now is causing more work for end users because of our inability to modify the filters or columns and SAVE that as the default format to open each time. Yes, you can save it as a new report, but we need at least the ability to set a default view that will allow us to mimic the Classic Report view. For example, why is the date field so far down the list? In the table, it is so far over to the right that even on a large monitor, you cannot see the date without reordering the columns. And once you reorder them, that setting is not retained so if you move away from that report or drill into a transaction and return to the at report, the columns and filters are completely reset. This is inefficient and part of the overall frustration with the new reports. Am I missing something?? Please give us the abi
How do I change the dashboard to the old style
Hi everyone, I manage my client's QuickBooks Online account through my Accountant Edition. I renewed their subscription on July 24, 2026. Since then, the account has been stuck in a "pending" state and never finishes processing. Whenever I try to log in — either through my Accountant Edition or directly with the client's own credentials — I'm redirected to a screen that says: "We appreciate your patience. We have received your request and will process your registration shortly." There's no further action available, and this has now been looping for over three weeks with no resolution. I've tried reaching Chat Support multiple times, but it shows as unavailable whenever I attempt to connect. Has anyone experienced this specific "pending registration" loop before? Is there a way to escalate this directly to Intuit, or can a QuickBooks Team member here help look into this account?
Need help how to import my bank statement to QBO. Thank you!
Is it just me or is anyone can't reply to the comments in the community?? Already tried clearing my cache and cookies, also used different browser. Just the error "something went wrong"
I've gone through about 75 different transactions and created rules for about 40 of them and none are picked up by the rules.
I’m trying to reply to a thread on here I started, but all it says is “Something’s gone wrong”. If I am able to post this, then there is something seriously wrong with how the community forum works, please fix. I have tried multiple times in different browsers, and incognito modes to reply to a thread I started.
I need to be able to print a report showing everything that changed in QB over a period of time affecting specific date ranges. Easy enough to do in QB Desktop’s audit trail report. The QBO audit log report only shows details when you drill down into each individual transaction and the filtering capabilities are basically non-existent. Has anyone figured out a way to get a report more like the old audit trail?
I’m really wondering what QuickBooks thinks is the positive impact of requiring the Received From revenue field to autopopulate the Customer/Client (Project) field in deposits, and making it non-editable.
i cant exported it from the QuickBooks desktop it's create new company
good morning, if we pause the subscription do we lose the data?
Hello Everyone, As of September4, 2026 Quickbooks is forcing everyone to allow them to make and file your payroll tax payments for you. If you do not comply you cannot use payroll services. This is BS
We build estimates with detailed and long line item descriptions which provides clarity to our customers about what specific work will be done. For example we will add a line on the estimate with a full paragraph describing services, but put the rate as $0.00. When we turn the estimates into invoices and click “print” or e-mail the invoice, all of the descriptions are completely erased. Since this new update, we have had to take extra time adding back these descriptions making it super tedious. Why has this been happening and is there a solution?
Is there any documentation or I get some guidance about how to import multiple intercompany journals with 1 single CSV?When upload combine multiple journals in 1 CSV, IES combines all of the lines into 1 journal and it uses the journal number and date from the first entry for the, now combined, giant entry. It essentially just combines all lines into a single journal and just uses the Journal number and date that was in the first row below the headers for the single giant combined entry.
I want a call back?
Problem with invoice
I've started using the new QuickBooks Time experience inside QBOA, and there are two workflow changes that are making time tracking less efficient for me as a bookkeeper who switches between multiple client files throughout the day.First, in the previous QuickBooks Time interface, I could click Clock In, select the customer, enter my notes, and then start the timer. In the new experience, the timer starts immediately when I click Clock In, before I've selected the customer or entered my notes. I preferred the previous workflow because it provided more accurate time tracking.Second, I used to keep QuickBooks Time open separately while I worked in different client QBO files. Now that Time is built into QBOA, I have to return to my QBOA company every time I switch clients, clock out, select the next client, and then go back to that client's file. For accountants and bookkeepers who work across several client files every day, these extra steps add up quickly.I'd love to see Intuit consider:
