I need to unreconcile an entire month. Is there a reason I cannot do this myself? I feel it unnecessary to contact and pay my accountant to do this for me when I own the company. Please advise. Thanks!

I recently took over management of our QBO account and there were a handful of things from 2024 needing fixing. I believe 11 bank transactions were confirmed instead of matched to the corresponding entry. It looks like maybe this created a fake QB entry to match the bank transaction to, which left the actual QB entry used to print the check in limbo. So I had to unmatch the fake QB entries, then unreconcile them (change R to blank in the Bank Register) so I could find the actual QB entry in the "Find other matches" list. Now these 11 fake entries show up in the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report. I tried to just delete a fake entry and now that one shows up in the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report, getting me nowhere. There are also instances where I voided checks that were reconciled because they were printed in error and were not deposited. Then one other instance where the last person voided a reconciled check that did end up getting deposited later on and is matched. For this can I

I recently closed my QuickBooks Checking Account and disconnected it from my Bank Transactions sync. However, when I go to finally make the account Inactive, I get the following errors:QuickBooks Checking: You can't delete this account as it is used as default for one of the sales lines. It also pops a window up that says:1 account wasn’t deactivatedHere are some reasons this might be the case:They have a non-zero balance. They’re one of the default accounts used by your chart of accounts. They’re being used in an automated workflow. I’ve verified the balance is 0, It is not used as a account for any products or services, and there are no rules or workflows. What else should I check? Thanks!
What in the world just happened with the "Square Connector" update? When I go to Create > Bank Deposits there are now FIFTY SEVEN PAGES (57 pages!!!) of transactions that just magically appeared the other day when I had it previously cleared out because we keep our books up to date (photo attached). These transactions total over $150,000 and go back 2 years! This will completely destroy my bookkeeping, what is happening? How do I fix this? I'm completely frazzled by this disaster. I'm also shocked I haven't found anyone else asking about this, am I the only one? Please help!
I have had several instances when I go to create a new invoice QBO is creating the invoice using an invoice number that has already been used. I just tried to create an invoice, just like I do every month, I completed the invoice and went to Save and CLose and I got an error message that this invoice number is already being used. QBO is generating the invoice numbers so how in the world is this happening?I have tried copying a prior invoice - which I do all of the time for my other clients - and I have started with +New and it generates the same invoice number. How can I get around this when it happens but more importantly how can i prevent it from continuing to happen?
Anyone know what's happened to the BofA bank feeds, accessing states to re-connect to the BofA-NEW feed but it still does not work correctly. Any advise or comments. thanks
Keep your books clean without the stress: A quick breakdown of QuickBooks’ new reconciliation warnings and permission updates. You can now undo a reconciliation as the primary admin, and if a previously reconciled transaction gets changed, you'll see a warning before it happens to prevent mistakes. Can’t add an image. Tried Mac and Windows, tried PNG, JPEG, and GIF. No joy. The bottom of the screen says “Please wait for your files to be uploaded” and it doesn’t go away until I exit the browser.Anyway, when editing a template, in the Sales Receipt Fields dialog, the Project field has the Print item enabled but the checkbox for Screen is dimmed. How can I fix this??? Thanks
Trying to activate direct deposit on QB Desktop Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll. I already pay unemployment taxes electronically, so thinking bank is connected. Here’s what I’ve done: Activated my employee for direct deposit and entered all of his detail, went great. Tried to run a check, but when I went to send payroll data to Intuit so he would get a pay stub etc, I received this error: Problem uploading data to service. Sign-on was rejected. Additional information from the Payroll Service. Problem: Your bank account is not active and you tried to transmit data. Solution: verify your bank account and then resubmit your request (message code 2000) So, I find some info on activating by bank account and verifying direct deposit. I did this:Go to Employees, then select My Payroll Service, then select Account/Billing Information. b. Sign in using your Intuit Account login. c. Go to Payroll Info section, und
I received the email about the change coming as of Nov 15, 2025 for new QB Online Payroll subscribers. I am a CPA who processes these payments and files the forms for many of my clients. I have a ridiculous number of times where the client using QBO to perform these functions ended up with incorrect payments and forms by QBO and it took us ages of work to get everything corrected with the corresponding government agencies. I completely disagree with this change and will discourage all clients from initiating new QBO payroll subscriptions and instead use Desktop (even if we have to run their payrolls for them). QB should always allow the professionals the option of turning this off.It is also alarming that they will withdraw the funds from the client's bank accounts and "hold" them until time to send to the appropriate government agency. That seems to be a reach for QB to create earnings for themselves from clients' funds for the time periods of "holding".Changes to payroll tax settings
Hello,Modern View Deposit Detail is doubling the deposit amounts. The Classic View Reports do not have this same issue. Deposit Detail report lists the total deposit amount then each individual deposit under the total. Then at the bottom of each it totals the deposit total and each individual amount. We don't use invoicing in QBO. Just strait deposits. I do not upload the bank statements. Community help answers all have to do with matching, invoicing or uploading bank statements - none of that we use. Example 1: The top lines show the actual deposit amount of $54,342.20. Then lists each deposit amount. At the bottom the total is $108,684.40 - - It should show just $54,342.20. - There for the deposit detail report has doubled the actual deposit amount. Example 2:There were 2 deposits on this date: I do not have double entries. 44,252.14 and 37,974.48 is $88226.62 not the 164k listed at the bottom total. I do not see anything to change this in the report o

Most QuickBooks Online login problems are caused by outdated browser data, and the fastest fix is to open a private or incognito window and sign in. If the private or incognito window resolves the problem, then clearing your browser’s cache and cookies should get you back up and running in a regular window. When a private window doesn't help, switching browsers, pausing extensions, and checking status.intuit.com resolves the large majority of remaining cases, while adjusting your security settings stops repeat sign-in prompts. Following the one-minute reset below gets most people back into their books in under five minutes, with no need to contact support. This guide covers the most common QuickBooks Online login issues, why each one happens, and how to fix it. The sections follow the order you'll usually run into them: getting in, staying in, and getting back in if you've lost access.Jump to the section that matches what you're seeing, and we'll take it from there together. How do I fix
I am looking for clarification from QuickBooks regarding the impact of the recent invoicing/payment update on historical deposit data. After this update, we noticed that historical deposits that previously had separate Client and Received From values are now displaying the Received From value in the Client field. The concerning part is that this appears to have changed the way historical transactions are presented without actually changing all underlying data. For example:Client-based reports still show the deposits correctly. Transaction search results still show the correct client. The client relationship appears to still exist in the backend data. However, when opening the deposit itself, the client information that was previously displayed is no longer visible. The deposit now appears to show only the Received From value.QuickBooks support has stated that this behavior is "working as intended," but that raises a larger concern: if this is the intended behavior, how is QuickBooks ensur
I am no longer able to edit the Customer/Client field on a deposit entry. Instead, it automatically inherits the Received From field, even when the payment was received from a Vendor. Chat support confirmed that this was an intentional update, but this change removes functionality that is essential for us. We are a law firm, and many of our deposits are received from third parties such as co-counsel, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other vendors. The Received From field should identify who actually sent the funds, while the Customer/Client field should identify which client the deposit belongs to. Those are two different pieces of information. Because these fields are now forced to match, we have to choose between recording who actually paid us or correctly associating the deposit with the client. In practice, this means we will have to list the funds as being received from the client instead of the actual payer. This change also eliminates valuable reporting capabilities. We
Hi! I just started at a new job, I have seen the invite to the company in my email through Gusto but when trying to accept it, it takes me to the Quick books Workforce login, I am able to add my long in info but after logging in I get an error that says “there is no company associated with this account” and it kicks me back to the login page. On my companies end it says I have received and accepted the invite. They haven't been able to delete my profile in there system to resend. I have called Quickbooks twice, the second time a ticket was put in and was told I would get a call back. I haven’t heard anything. My manager has also called a few times and has been unable to speak with someone to fix the issue.
Hi, I have entered my mileage as a receipt but it isn’t showing as an allowable expense Not sure what I am doing wrong
As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I rely on custom reports every month to prepare financial statements for multiple clients.I have spent time recreating my reporting workflow in Modern reports because Classic reports are being retired. Unfortunately, routine reporting now takes longer than it did in Classic. Some of the challenges I have encountered include:More clicks to complete routine tasks Report layouts that are less readable than Classic Customizations that do not always behave the same way as Classic reports Additional time spent verifying report settings before sending financial statements to clientsI am not opposed to improvements. If Modern reports truly become better than Classic, I will gladly use them. My concern is retiring Classic before Modern delivers the same efficiency, reliability, and ease of use that accounting professionals depend on every month.I would rather see Intuit continue supporting both options until Modern reports reach full feature parity and users choose to
