QuickBooks Q&A

The 9.1 update to QB for Mac 2024 has broken check printing. I can no longer print on check size paper. The update refuses to allow check printing on any size paper other than letter. I called Intuit about this. Nothing has been fixed. There is absolutely no reason to REMOVE this functionality from the software. Not sure what to do about it since Intuit typically does not listen to their customers. Anybody have a work around? Or a way to get Intuit to listen?????

Security? Just got online help, want to confirm with QuickBooks it was really QuickBooks person.
Just recently some of the balances on my customer list are wrong. It will show that a customer has a balance on the list, but then when I run a report, their balance is actually zero (which is right). I've attached a couple screenshots. I've went through some troubleshooting that I found here online like comparing reports etc., but nothing seemed to help. There are not any credits for the customer, and it is not happening with every customer. This customer in particular is not part of a subcategory and doesn't have any separate jobs listed. The transaction is straightforward with payment applied like usual. Is this just a glitch? It seems to be new since I downloaded premier 2020.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I use rental trucks in my business a LOT. Every transaction for Fuel or vehicle upkeep needs to "Specified" to a vehicle. Should "Add a Vehicle" and name it "Rental" and then associate the big gas purchases to Rental? Or will that create other issues? I'm not too bright when it comes to numbers and doing my books is stressful worrying about the scary IRS man.
I want classic view all the time and have it stop switching
Phone number
My home screen had a menu down the left side with my shortcuts and it's gone
Haven't received deposit
The dropdown "add report to group" does not display the group name..
This new dashboard and side menu are too cumbersome. I want to switch back to the "classic" homepage. I don't see an option for that. Is it gone?

How do I view direct deposit payroll issues?
I am trying to upload JE through the import csv file feature. I have turned off the account numbers and am using the parent and sub account numbers (eg Depreciation and Amortization:Depreciation:7000 Dep Exp - Fibre assets – subsea) but i am still getting the "Line account invalid" message. Thanks in advance
One of my users just installed QuickBooks 2022 and now can't export one specific report to Excel 2016 (32bit). When trying to run the Client Ready Payroll Report which exports to Excel she receives an error :Unable to connect to QuickBooks - Error: 2147221000 : Method 'Get Module' of object IRunning Instance Info' failed All of the latest updates have been installed for Windows 10 Pro, QuickBooks 2022 and Excel. We've tried all of the normal trouble shooting items including uninstalling and reinstalling both QuickBooks and Excel.Any help greatly appreciated.
Is there a way to automatically add early payment discount on customer payment receipts? I currently go on Customers -> Receive Payments . Then for every invoice, I have to individually select the invoice number, hit "Discounts and Credits" and hit OK to have quickbooks calculate it. Is there anyway, to automatically do this step when I just click the arrow key? The issue I have is that I process about 20 invoices at a time and it's repetitive. Unfortunately, I have some invoices that are % 10, Net 30 and some that are Net 30 for this particular client. Any input to reduce these steps are greatly appreciated.
When reviewing an invoice in QuickBooks Online and clicking “View Activity,” the payment line shows QBO’s internal payment reference number (e.g., “#1234”) instead of the check number entered by the user (e.g., “Check #9876”). This creates confusion because:Users expect to see the actual check/reference number they entered, since that’s what they reconcile against bank records. The check number does display correctly on the payment record and in reports, so the data is correct — but the invoice activity panel misleads users into thinking the wrong check number was recorded. Request: Please update the Invoice “View Activity” panel so it displays the user-entered check/reference number instead of the system’s internal payment ID. This will align with the rest of QBO, reduce confusion, and better support reconciliation workflows.
